How big is your back yard?  Here in suburbia, it's against the law to fire a gun within the city limits  #u#T3r(without a good reason) :popo  Heck, you can't even use a bow and arrow in your back yard inside the city limits.  I'm not sure about sling shots and squirrels (tree rats).  I don't think they've outlawed rocks; it's just if it hits someone else, or their property ???

It's 2 acres, so technically, you could still get into trouble, but, when we had a large pond dug in the back, we had a burm built around the back of the property.. if that's not a bullet trap, I've never seen one lol

I currently own 0 guns.

However my dream is to one day own a Desert Eagle .50 automatic. 7 shot. Weighs 4.4lbs(2kg) 8" barrel.

What a beautiful gun.

Against my dead body jdizzle.....I dont like guns. My dad and bro used to have a shi* load of them when I was growing up. I don't want them under the same roof as my kid! Just my personal choice tho!

In Australia it would be easier to get nominated for PM than to be able to have a handgun. My father-in-law can get me a legal andgun through his contacts in the shooting club that he was a member for for 30 years.

In Australia in order to be able to have a handgun permit the following procedure applies.

1.Application to have a handgun permit for the sole purpose of target shooting(the only reason you will get one aside frm law enforcement or armed security work)-150.00 and police credit check.

2.One a handgun is acquired one has to notify the Police Department. YOu then have to purchase not 1 but 2 seperate Gun Safes ,which can run into the 1000's. The police then come to your residence to certify that your weapon is unloaded and left in one safe, and the ammunition is locked in the other safe,at least 10metres away!??

3.Mandatory membership of a Gun or Shooters Club. Annual membership can run between 200-400 per annum. You MUST go to the club to shoot at least 1 time per month or else your permit will be revoked.

Back home I could walk into any gun shop, as long as I cleared the mandatory background check which I could of course, and get my gun within 15 days. I nearly did just that last time I was back home.

Gun laws in Australia are a farce.

Any handgun that only holds 7 rounds is worth carrying. The stopping power of each round is devastating. I've seen what a .50 bullet with do to a human or an animal.

Alaskan Park rangers carry .50 handguns with them during patrols in case they come across any large ursines.

Glocks are great if you know what you're doing.   :Xo!
Of course then there is the instructor who shoots himself in the leg with a Glock....

There are lots of other guns out there.  If you're interested, take a gun safety course that introduces you to a wide variety of guns and how to handle them.  Usually these courses are about a weekend in length.   O0

in the video the problem wasn't that it was a glock, the problem was that the guy got careless and had a loaded magazine in when he released the slide.  if the guy was showing them a 1911 the same thing would have happened.

The safe bit that i mentioned referred to the firing mechanism
