Went to the dentist for the first time in years. One of the subjects was teeth whitening. They offered two type treatments. One was called a "Zoom" treatment which was a one time treatment for $565. The second treatment was similar to what you could get over the counter where you use a mouth tray and whitening solution for $365. The receptionist told me that over the counter treatments work just as well. So save the bucks.
I looked into having veneers done on four front teeth and the dentist told me get your teeth whitened first since they can match your veneers to the whiteness of your teeth. Cost of veneers, $5,000!!! And this guy is a member of the family...ouch.

Tried a couple of the over the counter whiteners!
Didn't work so well on me! I get my teeth cleaned 2 times a year
and that seems to be all right for me! but I have dental insurance also!
I have never asked about teeth whitening maybe something to aske about!HUM

Bro, it don't matter if you don't brush your teeth

Just kidding!
Actually, like Froze, I've tried the over the counter stuff and it doesn't work very well. Though, Rembrandt tooth paste does work decently for just being toothpaste.

Burke....is that TOOTH whiteners or TEETH whiteners...I guess it would depend if you have more than one tooth. If your case is just the one tooth...I would just go buy some of that appliance touch up paint kit that you can use to paint in the ding marks in the stove or the fridge. LOL

I got some custom-made trays and some whitener from the dentist when the products first came out about 10 years or so ago. Worked really well. My dad uses some of the over-counter stuff and has had great results. I haven't been able to stick with the OTC stuff for touch-ups because the trays they give you (you boil them in water and then bite down to make an impression) are uncomfortable. I lost the custom-made ones.

Lately, when I need a touch-up I've used the Crest Whitening strips and they worked really well. There's also a Crest Whitening rinse that you use twice a day before you brush your teeth, which is great at preventing staining. Listerine makes a similar product that also works well.

Those products work best if you get your teeth cleaned just prior to using them.

I would never use that sh!t on my teeth. My teeth are white because I take care of them, not because I attack my enamel with chemicals.

Haha I didn't mean to offend anyone, I just think that a lot of people use teeth whiteners as a excuse not to take care of their maw.
