i actually got a weekend off so i got myself a sampler 12pack of abita beer. made in the area but can be found all over. not quite a bud or coors in size but bigger than a tiny micro brew. anyway, i was thinking (while "tasting number 2) what are your favorite microbrews or local brews. not the big name brand crap that tastes like water.


right now i am having a TURBODOG by ABITA. ......."a dark brown ale brewed with a combination of pale , crystal, and chocolate malts...........


it ain't bad. not my favorite but still decent. has a slight choclaty-toffee flavor. don't think i would want it all the time but it is a nice change from the norm. i will update you guys as the 12pack dissappears.

Ever seen'm?  They cost a fortune and are like 9% or 10% alcohol.  They are delicious and pack a whollop !!!

A buddy and I were at the store one night to pick up some beer and we came across some bottles of that stuff with the champagne cork, bought one each instead of a good cigar... great beer!

I totally forgot about that stuff untill you wrote that.

i do love fat tire robbie. like breckenridge brewery too. there was a little brewery in vail called the hubcap brewery. no clue if it is still open or not but the beer was good. food was good too.

Whitefish Ale, can't get it anywhere but Escanaba, Michigan.  Made at a real microbrewry/restaurant called Herford and Hops.  Have 5 other microbrews that are all darn good.

My favorite Microbrew has to be Burning Rivers Pale Ale by Great Lakes Brewing Company(Cleveland OH)

Down in the Cleveland party district called The Flats  you can get it on tap in most places and it is heaven in a glass. Full bodied and a great on the palate.

Any West Coast peeps, if you are ever in Bristol Farms or a Liquor Store that does good imports, check out an Australian beer called Coopers. Comes in the green bottle Pale Ale(4.7%) and the red bottle Sparkling Ale(6%)

This stuff is also very good too, it has a small amount of sediment in it as it is matured inside the bottle.

She (my boss) never found out that it was a strip club, because I cut off the part of the receipt that said the name of the place and wrote a different name in claiming that it was a different place.  Luckily, the accounts payable lady never figured it out either...
