How do you clean your bald head?
« on: August 19, 2006, 04:41:16 PM »
I've been using various different things to clean my head depending on what I grab first in the shower. Sometimes, I use soap, others shampoo, and occasionally I'll use a facial cleanser.  I don't see much of a difference between the three except that soap tends to dry out the scalp a little more.

What do you use?  Do you use a wash cloth, or anything?  How do you clean your bald head?

No, I don't think it's weird. I do it too. Guess it's an old habit from the old hair days.

The clean the head I invented Bald Guyz Head Wash & Shampoo. it is gentle, gleans the head as well as the hair (if you have any) Soap dries out the skin and most shampoos are for hair not head.

I haven't tried anything else yet,

Dove or Camay and no dry scalp. If I go a few days (more than 3) without shaving then I use shampoo.

On non-shaving days (or after the gym) I use Nivea for Men Energizing Face Scrub...

On shave days, I use HeadShed from headblade...

Hm, I don't really clean my head in between shaves.

Lately I've been using a great (mild) antiseptic liquid soap called "Germisdin".
Before the shave I apply it on my wet skull (it creates a rich foam) and I leave it on for about 60 seconds. Then I wash it off and carry on with my usual shaving routine. After I'm done shaving I repeat the "Germisdin" procedure, and that's about it as far as "cleaning" my bald head is concerned.
Oh, I also put on a little Johnson's Baby Oil after I'm done (as a final step), and then I gently wipe off the excess oil with a towel and I'm good to go...

Or if you want to clean it in the shower. I reccomend getting a bar of Dove soap for your head. It's pretty cheap and dosen't dry it out.

Products of choice:

4 Days a week> HeadShed from Headblade (just started two weeks ago and can already tell a marked difference in appearence, shine, and smoothness of shave)

Everyday during shower> Liquid body wash w/tea tree oil (tea tree oil is a natural anti-bacterial, anti-fungal....anti-bacterial soaps scare me a bit...are we making super germs because we use them so much?
