clothes that I didn't ask for, or money simply because no one took the time to find something I like. In certain cases money is ok, but i'd prefer to receive a gift I asked for instead.
I never hate receiving cash. If you get any you don't want for Christmas this year, I'll be happy to relieve you of it.

gift cards kinda bug me. usually to a store i don't shop at, or not really enough to do anything with. makes me think: 1) I am not important enough to you to spend a little time thinking. or 2) you are just too damn lazy to extend some effort on my behalf. if you wanna get me a gift card just give me cash. that can be used anywhere.

That's pretty much why I stopped participating in office Pollyannas. It got to the point where people were just exchanging gift cards and it all seemed really pointless. -

That can go either way with me. Walmart and Meijer cards are a lazy cop out. Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, or the game stores card I'm cool with. Those tell me that the person at least considered my interest, but didn't know for sure what to get. Or even the local art supply store(I think salivate and sport wood every time I walk in there) -

The secret to x-mas shopping is to go out on the crappiest day of the season, like today. I got all my shopping done in an hour and a half. a little ice storm and the Mall, Target, and the roads were dead. No shoving or waiting in lines.

yeah. in some ways it's better. I couldn't ask my grandma for the new Slayer DVD, she'd look at the cover and have a stroke. But, with a Sam Goody or Barns and Noble gift card I get what I want and Granny stays outta the old folks home.
What I hated when I was younger was asking for a Video game. You ask for Final Fantasy you get Fantasy Fishing. -

we had a CHRISTmas thing one year and whoever got my name asked what kind of music i liked. so the wifey told them reggae. they got me some weird ass crap that noone knows. not even remotely something i would listen to. owell it was the thought right?

You Know your right, now that I think about it. Maybe they were replaced or bought out by Fye. EB got bought out by Gamestop.
