Christmas is always crazy around our house. Since both sides of our families are not in town, we end up on the road alot. We're due to be traveling to Iowa on Christmas day and to southern Missouri the weekend before. Then somewhere in-between, we try to work in our Christmas with just the my wife and the boys. It's enough to lose your Christmas spirit over, sometimes.

looks like i will be on call. but if i'm not working we do the santa thing here that morning and then go to in-laws here in town and do gifts there. then i always make it a point to stay home and let my kids enjoy their gifts. when i was a kid we had to go visit everyone in frickin town. i hated it so i don't like making my kids do that. just me i reckon.

We will have my in-laws over in the morning to our place and spend the day eating and drinking. Then if it is hot enough, we will take a dip in the pool.
Even after 5 Xmas spent here in OZ, I still struggle with no snow on Xmas. U never get used to it.

Same thing every year, a couple we know has a Christmas Eve party, great food and drink, then Midnight Mass with the family, home to "Slide Port" which is getting a bottle of good port and some Stilton cheeze and pass it around--it's our version of the Revillion, the old French post-Mass light supper, usually it has been just the family sometines we have a friend who is single in town, but this year I think we'll have my daughter's newly minted fiance and bring him in on the tradition too. Christmas Day, presents in the morning, popovers & coffee, people stop by during the day and of course we a drink, maybe a Sazarac or two with them, then our immediate family for dinner in the early evening sometines with a guest or two that doesn't have anyone in town. Then, just in case we haven't eaten enough it's over to a cousin of my wife's, more dessert and drinks. Then to bed.

We have Christmas Eve at our house, then Christmas Day we will go to my mom's. My step brothers will be in from Wisconsin this year, so we'll be pretty damn busy up until they leave. The Saturday before, we're all going to the New Mexico Bowl to watch the UNM Lobos take on Nevada. Then on Sunday the ladies are planning on going to Santa Fe and check out all the artsy fartsy stuff. Meanwhile, the guys and kids will be at my mom's eating Prime Rib and watching football on the 42" high def.
