bald or not?
« on: November 22, 2007, 09:49:25 AM »

hey everyone!

these are some photos of my hairline...just looking for some feedback. the first two suggest a receding hairline in my opinion, but the last two look fine. is this because of the angle? what are your opinions? balding or not?

thanks

jhart...1st of all welcome 2 the sly fraternity.  glad that ya found us.  2 answer your question.... your hair looks fine, it doesn't look like your balding at all.  i think that u r being over-critical, however we are our worse critic so i can understand yourself being over-critical but the  hair looks fine.

why do u ask?  r  u planning 2 shave the noggin'?  if u have thoughts on "doing the deed" (shaving your head).... then u should do it.  99% of the people who have thoughts on doing the deed usually end up shaving their noggin' eventually.

Welcome Jhart!

My hairline is actually more receded than yours, but I don't consider myself "balding."

If yer asking whether or not your perceived MPB is strongly warranting you shaving it, I would say 'no' you have a nice head of hair and many options (like me and others here).  We call that BBC (Bald By Choice) meaning we don't have MPB strongly warranting us shaving the noggin.  We just do it 'cause it looks cool.

I don't see any recession.  Bear in mind that some recession is normal; it doesn't necessarily mean that you're going bald.  Few guys in their 30s still have the same hairline that they had when they were 15.  Only time will tell whether or not it progresses into true MPB, but taking a look  the other older males in your family should give you some indication.  You don't have to shave your head because of hair loss, but if you want to, by all means go for it.

Agree, not balding

I would have to say not balding, welcome! Then again going bald is a extremely slow and agonizing process, I can't tell for sure.

It sure doesn't look like anything more than a mature hairline.  But, do you have a "hole" in the back of your head too?  Then it could be the earliest sign.  Mine started in my mid-twenties, just "pulled" back in front, but a hole in the back too.  That grew and the front thinned out over the next 10 years, then stopped for a while.  Note: I tried minoxidil at first on the hole, but it wasn't for me, no hair but a hell of a rash for several months that made money for the dematologist.  Someplace on the web is a chart of MPB, if you have a hole, try to find it because you will gain some understanding of what's going on.

Welcome. I don't see any balding based on the pics you posted. But you can always try sly.  ;)
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

I agree. I don't think you're going bald. That's what my hairline looks like if I let it grow past the 5 o'clock shadow and I'm not balding. I just like the feeling of sly and how it looks. Oh yeah, and the chicks dig it.

If you're looking for a reason to shave, I say just do it. If you're not sure, wait until you are and then make the decision. Otherwise, let it flow man.
