I hate mobs of people & parking. So malls are usually out. The Lovely Mrs. Schro and I will shop during the mornings or lunch time of a weekday while the kids are in school. Maybe make a morning of it and follow it up with a huevos rancheros brunch.
Plus, I'll also do as much online shopping as possible.
We'll take care of the kids and the family, but she & I will not be exchanging gifts. Our $ is better spent on the home, vacations, and day-to-day expenses.

I'm surprised at how many people are done their Christmas shopping already! I just thought of it today, and I thought it would be a great thread to start! Looks like Tyler beat me to the punch.
I'm heading into exams soon, so my Christmas shopping will probably be left to the week before Christmas. Yikes, I don't mind the people though too much. It's almost as good as being at the shops alone. Everyone's too concerned with their own belly-button that they don't even notice you. Getting into the season though for sure! Can't wait to enjoy good times and family.

PS. Anyone have any ideas for something nice to get the lady-friend this year? I'm never that great at buying things. I'm more of the planning fun things kinda guy. But since we'll be spending Christmas at our own respective homes I need to buy her something. Any help is much appreciated!

If she likes jewelry, that's always good. Like a little pendant with a picture of the both of you. Not expensive, but "thoughtful"
Pearls can also be purchased for a very reasonable price. Elegant, but not that expensive either. -

You cant go wrong with Jewelry - last year jdoggy got me a locket - which I totally love - last night he came home with a new watch for me woohoo!
Another one you pretty much cant go wrong with is perfume....check out isseymiyake - every woman I know loves it, and the dudes love it more! (not sure what your budget is) or blvgari is BEAUTIFUL! hint hint joddgy!
Anywho.......I do most of the xmas shopping at the mall each year but this year now we have lil Levi I will get getting Jodggy on the job - send him to the mall with a list!!! We better hurry up to cos we need to post the gifts off to the US for jdoggys family!
Only xmas shopping I have done and completed is for Levi - so much fun picking out the toys!

A couple years ago I did the Black Friday thing...it was stress upon stress.
Now I do about 50% of my shopping online (free shipping on most stuff between now and Christmas)...and pickup the rest when the places are NOT busy. That means 10a-12noon during the week.
