Christmas Shopping
« on: November 19, 2007, 05:57:49 PM »
This Friday is Black Friday where many people head out to the shopping malls to look for those great Christmas deals.  There is also Black Monday, the following Monday where people will search for deals online.  Which do you plan on doing?

I prefer to do my shopping online as it allows me to avoid the crowds.  Though, I'm not able to get everything online, so I put Combo of both.

Yeah, I am the same.

I always find ideas online but if it is difficult to get a feel for its quality or if I am uncomfortable buying it sight unseen, I will try to find it locally.

Hey Ty, your tag is outdated  ;D

Anyway, This year me and the kid are going snowboarding for the first time. We decided to spend christmas that way instead of blowin money on crap. I figure he will be off to colloge in 4 years, so I better make sure he breaks a few more bones before he leaves the nest!!

A couple of years ago, we took the boys and went to Great Wolf Lodge.  It's a lodge/indoor water park.  We spent Christmas eve and Christmas day.  We did this in place of presents that year.  The boys still got tons of toys and video games from the grandparents.  And we got to spend a really cool Christmas eve together.  We may try to do something like that again this year.  The kids have way too many toys and they enjoyed the adventure.

I do all my shopping online.  I can't deal with the parking at the malls or the crowds in the stores.  Usually I end up having to make at least one trip to the mall for one item, but this year I think I am actually finished all my shopping.

When I was younger I used to enjoy the whole Christmas shopping ritual, but now I just view it as an infringement on my leisure time --- which I don't have that much of to begin with.   God bless Al Gore for inventing the internet!   >:D

Im with shdwwlk....me and the wife went christmas shopping yesterday.  We are prolly about done.  So we avoided all the crowds...yeah most will say but the bargains you will save on the day after thanksgiving......Is it really worth it?  Nahhhh not in my book...I will just use friday to relax and enjoy left overs...and a beer...or two.

I try to avoid the stores as much a possible. The crowds and the traffic are NUTZ at our local mall area.  :Xo! 5t*mp

My wife and I are planning to be done with the shopping by early December.
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

I'll do mine in a week or two, done mostly in a store but if an item is online only or in high demand and i need to guarantee it's arrival i'll use the online route.

I do a hell of a lot of my Christmas shopping on line, but I do enjoy goin round the shops when they're all decorated up, and I love being amongst the crowds and the Christmassy atmosphere - but when the crowds get too busy it can be a bit manic!

Also, its a great place to watch and be watched and to show off the shiny dome!!! ;D
