Ok, we got some musicians and we got some scholars in here. I was curious how many Bald artist reside within the sly community. What's your favorite media/medium? And what's your favorite subject matter?

I'll start. Pen and ink, water color, drawing, pastels, charcoals, and scratch boards. When I was younger I did alot of morbid/gothic/ or bizarre pieces. Now I'm trying to improve my portrait drawing. I've been drawing since pre school, but never to it to the professional level. I had a few college level art classes, but for the most part I'm self taught. Although it's only for my own amusement, I've probably have made 5-$600 buck through out my life on it. Down side, between my wife and I we probably have about three grand in supplies.

I've been a graphic designer almost 22 yrs...loved art since I was 2-3...really..

made a real good living with it...lots of character work and illustration, I sketch first then nowadays do digital rendering in Photoshop...

When it's not used in a commercial way,my stuff is very modern and Shag-esk..I love doing things with clay and mosaics and the like..

all the tiki type/hipster stuff comes very naturally for me..

I also really dig landscape and all the home design stuff (I feel it's an extention of my art)..

Maybe one day make a art living of THAT?

Music is my creative outlet.

However my better half is a very talented artist. More than she gives herself credit for. She was a freelance graphic designer for about 2 years when I first came out here to have extra income as I wasnt able to work legally.

She is done some amazing charcoal drawings and oil and watercolor work varying from landscapes to portraits to abstract. She has helped me in my songwriting by helping to visualize something through words.

I am blessed :@` :@` :@` :@`

Music is what I get into.  Before going into business/accounting, I started off as a vocal music major in college.  School seemed to take the fun out of music and I didn't think I would ever be able to make a living out of it.  Now it's my hobby

I've been playing the drums since age 6.  Studied for 12 years with a few very demanding teachers and played in bands since about age 14.   Love playing funk, R&B, and jazz fusion.  Never considered making this my profession, as I'm not good enough and most of the bands I've been in have lost money.  Great hobby, though ...

Of course it is, I was just curious who here was talented is the visual forms of art. Hadn't seen any previous posts about it. I'm just started a pastel of M.Manson today, and I'd kill for one of his original water colors. He's as talented with a brush as he is with a microphone.

I don't know if I'm an artist.  I've tried my hand at metal sculpture, there's a piece I did in the flower bed, I have an idea for another one but haven't had time to do it.

I also do woodworking, currently am making some of these for Christmas presents.

love charcoal, oils, gouche, watercolour - any media really.  Enjoy drawing cartoons and 'commercial' art rather than portraits and landscapes etc.  I've done poster and programme designs for the amateur musical society I belong too, and illustrated children's books (none published yet...)

I've done art since a kid, and studied it at college till I was 21.  Guess you could say I'm quite arty! 8)

Art takes on many forms, personally I suck at the 3 demensional art forms. Wood working takes alot of skill. Had a buddy that was a kick a$$ sculptor....course his best work he did stoned out of his gourd.

i've played around with a few mediums over time. oils, charcoals, pen and ink, pencil drawing, etc. not very good but it is a good way to relax and get away from day to day life sometimes.

Music is my thing as well but I do a ton of graphic design for work.

Yeah it is. I never had much luck with oils though. I prefer acrylics and wate color/ink washes.
