Make that four. I can use one on my face, but couldn't seem to get the angle right to shave my head.

Welcome, Johannes. Ich kann etwas auf deutsch. I am eager to learn straight razoring technique and disappointed that it has been in marked decline in this country for a long time. When I decided to go totally bald, in early November, I told the barber to take it all off, expecting him, as a professional, to reach for his straight razor. Disappointingly, he reached instead for electric clippers and gave me a #0 buzz cut, with which I was not happy. I had to finish the job with a Mach III Turbo, which went very well for the first time. When I was a little boy, I remembering watching, with fascination, as my grandfather stropped his blade and then shaved flawlessy; there was not one nick, not even razor burn, on his face or neck, and he was in his 60s at the time. If I learnt the art it would, somehow, reconnect me with him. Glad to have your on board. From where do you hail? Professor Melon

Yes Professor afther you know how to use the blade and use all the stuff you need for a nice shave there is not one nick ore a razor burn, only a smooth soft skin.
Hope to make very soon the pics for the right shave, butt its december and have a lot work to do.

I'd love to try it, but I'd rather have a pro do it for me.
I don't need to remove an ear....Unless I'm going as Van Gogh next Halloween

Noner - for you and the other guys that live in NYC. The Art of Shaving store and Barber Spa on 373 Madison Ave (Corner of 46th and Madison if I remember correctly) has head shaving with a straight razor. I just called them and it still cost $35. I had it done a couple of years ago when I was in NYC. I always stayed at the Roosevelt and came accross it when I was walking around.

That would be better than a day at the spa. What the hell am I saying? I've never spent a day at the spa...it sounded good at first.

You can put me down to learn the art of the straight razor. One thing I'm going to miss is the old guy who used to cut my hair- the coolest old school Italian barber ever. He woud give your hair a cut, then at the end out would come the straight blade to trim around the ears and the neck line. No more haircuts for me after tonight though, lol.
