Welcome aboard.

Here is what I recommend:

(1) Get a headblade
(2) Experiment with different razors (try HB double, HB triple, Sensor Double, Atra Double for starters) ... I prefer Sensor Doubles
(3) Get some Headslick and shaving oil (KoS is a good brand ... so is Pacific) ... use oil and then use slick on top of oil for extra protection
(4) expiriment/practice - don't press down on blade, etc.
(5) try using ice afterwards or a cold water rinse
(6) try clear head if still having problems

Good luck  O0

well my shave routine is I would usually start with my clippers and go as short as they allow.  then I would get in the shower get my head wet put the shaving cream on and go to work.  Everything would be cool until like the third day my head will get sore and start to bump up.  So after that I would wait until the hair grows back and then cut it off with the clippers.  I have been using the clippers because im scared to use a razor again.  Do most of you guys shave everyday?  Or every other day what routine should I follow?  I want that mr. clean look.

Welcome bro..I feel your pain and the need to have a completely bald head..

How long was the longest time you were consistantly shaved smooth? What you need to do is almost get your head "toughened" up with daily shaves...I think you can get into trouble with every other day shaving or the clipper route used to torture on my head...

shaving it with a razor was the kindest route for me...biggest thing pre-moisturize before you shave and soften your skin?

Try different things bro..one day you'll be the bald dude you were meant to be ;)

Hi and welcome.

Yeah: the more you shave the better you'll become at it and the tougher your scalp will get.  keep trying. 8)

I agree with BaldAndre.  You are waiting too long between shaves.  It may seem counterintuitive, but shaving more frequently is less hard on the scalp than once a week or something along that line.  At the minimum shave every 48 hours, and shave once a day at the maximum.  Do it any more frequently (from my experience) and you will irritate the scalp.  Wait much longer than 48 hours and you'll have to clipper your head then try and plow down all that long stubble (which is also irritating) and the time between your scalp is not being conditioned for shaves.  Try shaving every day or every other day and you'll see an imporvement.  You should never have to use clippers after the very first shave.

Good luck  O0

Welcome sae3.

Maybe try different razors and what the others have said.

Welcome to SBG's sae3, and I agree with all the advice so far. The best thing to do is experiment and see what works best for you.
Follow X's recommendation and let us know how it goes for you. You may also want to try an exfoliant. Most guys use either HB headshed or St. Ives apricot scrub. Use it a couple of times a week.
