Considering I have done so many different jobs in my life, I can fix most anything. Automobiles have became complicated with computers, but the basics still greatly apply. Back in the day my brother and I dropped 2 engines into his 72 grand prix, he blew 2 of them. But then we put the 455 heads on the 3rd engine, problem solved! I did AC for a while so got that covered, did carpentry work, some electrical but have a friend who is certified so got that covered, soem tile work... man I have been a work whore

Oh, I can transport you to the morgue in a hospital also, then TimmJ can pick you up!!

I have to call the Pros. I suck at most handyman things.

I tend to calls the pros. I am not as handy as I think I am. Also, I know then, that the job will get done quickly

Over the years when various things have gone wrong I have attempted to "have a go" as the Aussies say and try to fix it. Along the way I have been electrocuted , cut badly(arm, from carpet knife), burned, doused in hot cooking oil(trying to fix gas oven), stabbed(with a screwdriver) and I mangled my thumb with a crowbar trying to nail down an errant piece of decking lumber that had popped up from water absorption.
Thank God I have a friend who is a carpenter and a truck toolbox full of every tool imaginable. If he cant do it, I ring up the tradesman.
Electricity is the 1 thing I stay well and truly away from. One simple miscalculation and it's el final

Like many I stay away from anything electrical more than a change of a light bulb, but I'll look at plumbing, and fortunately I usually procrastinate enough that I don't have to call the professionals in, my wife does.

I'd have to say that I do stay far away from electricity. I'm a electrical idiot.

Unless its something I really think is over my head, I'll usually tackle the job myself. I've installed new kitchen cabinets, along with new sink, supply lines, garbage disposal, new drain pipes, and underlayment on the floors. I've also hung ceiling fans, changed outlets, changed light switches, and ran new outlets. I don't do much automotive, usually that goes to the local mechanics, although in college I changed the thermostat and starter on my old stationwagon.
My most impressive home repair was when the wife pulled some paper off the ceiling (a few months before we had the room drywalled). I got tired of looking at the big brown spot overhead and covered it up with posterboard attached with liquid nails

I call the professional 100% of the time. I've learned the hard way that my talents are simply not in the areas of carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, or painting. I've made attempts, through the years, but have found that it costs me less to call in the pros from the start, as it usually costs more to undo the problems I've caused.

I've been electrocuted a time or six or five, depending on the voltage and amperage it usually just tickles a little.
Could explain a lot about the way I are!!!
