Shaved headed twins
« on: November 11, 2007, 06:08:52 PM »
Have any of you guys (or gals) ever been told that you have a shaved headed twin?  Or do you have a friend who is sly and people think it is you or your brother?  I started this topic on Headshave Central.  I just wanted to see the responses here.  As for myself, I have a friend named Ted.  For years, we have had people think that we were brothers.  This was even before either one of us went sly.   We are only 9 months apart, same height, both overweight.  He has lost lots more hair than I.  But people thought we were brothers even when I had hair and he had the fringe.  It is kind of scary in that our personalities are similar, as is our talents, struggles, likes, etc.   Ted is the guy in the picture by himself.  There is also a guy on the worship team at my church, who I feel is kind of a twin.  Nobody really has said anything about that as far as I know, except for one friend.  But I think we look like we could pass for brothers.  It is the picture of two sly guys with a gut and the same height.  The last picture was taken this weekend at a Christian Musicians conference I attended.  The taller "twin" is taken with a fellow named Roby Duke who had some hits in the 80's and early 90's in Contemporary Christian Music radio.  Before either of us went sly, another friend thought we looked similar in the fact that we were both chunky guys with beards and glasses.  We had also attended the same church in the 90's.  Now Roby has lost 70 lbs and gone sly.  So I will adopt him as my taller, thinner, sly brother!  As for me, I know I need to get back on the weight loss wagon.

It's wild that you bring this up now marsh.   I was getting gas yesterday and I hear this guy yell, "Hey Baldie".   I turn around, not sure if this is going to be confrontational, when the guy begins to apologize.  "Sorry, I swore you were my buddy, Bill.  Man you look JUST like him."   He went so far as to get his wife out of the car and have her check me out.   Both kept repeating they couldn't believe it wasn't their friend.  It was a wierd experience.  Sure hope his buddy never commits a crime and puts his pic on America's Most Wanted or something.

Well, it has been awhile since I posted in this topic.  First of all, since I posted this topic, one of the twins in my phots has passed away.  Roby Duke, the taller sly fellow in the last pictures died the day after Christmas 2007.  I believe that he died in his sleep at home alone.

But on to more of a happier subject.  The next picture I have is myself with a fellow named Tom.  There is a funny story behind this picture.  I had seen Tom a few times going to visit someone in my apartment building.  Tom originally looked sly.  But I had not talked to him before or had been close enough to see that he still had a fringe.

So one day, I was going out and he was going into the apartment complex.  I then said, "good haircut", then I realized that he still had some hair.  Well, we ended up talking and I told him about the HeadBlade and told him that he had a good head for the totally bald look.  He appreciated that and told me that it looked good on me.

Well, a few weeks later I saw him again and gave him a good natured bad time about not going sly.  He laughed and said that he really should do it.    I then happened to have a HeadBlade in my suitcase which was in the car.  So I showed him it and told him where to buy one.  Then the next time I saw him, he said that he bought a HeadBlade and was going to use it when he got home.

Well today, I got off of work and he parks his van and he was rocking the Sly look!  So after talking a few minutes, I asked him if I could take a pic of the both of us.  He kindly obliged and I sent a copy to his cell phone.  After all was said and done, I suggested that sometime we meet for coffee since we have kept bumping into each other.  So I now possibly have a new friend as a result of telling him about the HeadBlade and the advantes of being Sly.  I said that he was my brother from another mother.  He laughed.  We are only 3 years apart, overweight and have grey goatees and moustaches.  You will see the similiarity in the photo!

Here is another pic of my "twin" Ted.  But as I had mentioned earlier, that we are quite similar.  Same height and similar weight.  We are also 9 months apart in age.  Besides that, we both drive Chevy Cavaliers.  So for awhile we had wanted to get a photo of the two of us together with our Cavaliers.  I actually didn't plan on getting a car like his.  But I guess great "Sly" heads and minds think alike!     O0
