Is it possible to add a location field to the profile info that shows up next to our avatars? The "where are you from" question seems to come up a lot whenever new people join.

The field is available to fill out in the profile. Let me see if I can get it to show on the main forum screen.

there is an area in the profile information where you can add info that goes under your username. Why not just add your location in that area. Or like many of the Sly Bros here do, go to
www.imagechef.com and create a personalised license plate of where you come from and add it to your user profile.

I know. I was just asking if that information could be brought forward to the forum pages. I've seen other SMF forums that do that. That way it pops up automatically and people can see where everyone else is from.

Once you click preview, click on the button to post to a blog or myspace. Then, copy the [IMG] link below where it says Message Boards / Forums.
That should do it.

OK, I think I've finally got it. Thanks. Now, how so I fix it so the code doesn't show up next to the image?

Thanks, Doug, after reading your post, I went to my profile and deleted that part of the code and it worked. For some of us "non-techies" things like that are just way over my head sometimes.

Thanks, again. SLYinKC and I are accountants, not "techies", as I seem to be reminding people at work a lot these days!
