A new believer

I was on the forums today checking out new posts. I was checking out all the Head Blade videos, and decided to buy one. Went to my local Walgreens (about 1 minute from my house) and bought a HB Sport, Head Lube Glossy, and Head Slick. Cost was $30.50. I just finished shaving my head with these products, and I am a new believer in Head Blade. Slicked my head (used very little product it goes a long way), ran the HB front to back, then back to front. Wiped my head and checked for missed spots. I missed very few spots, so touch up was quick. Put the Head Lube Glossy on, then shaved my face. Normally, using my Schick Xtreme III razor, shaving my head and face, took about 15 minutes. I just finished in 10 minutes. Awesome. So far I love it. Only problem I had was keeping the HB wheels in contact with my scalp. I kept popping wheelies with it. I guess practice will remedy that.

Good advice from Tom there Dadillac.   I had similar problem.   Just slow down a bit and you'll have it nailed in no time.

I second that. I got my first cut by not following that rule. Keeping the wheels down does become more natural with more use.

When I started I used the trick of lifting the leading finger.  This helped me from popping wheelies or pressing down on the blade...

dadillac....i'm a fusion (manual) user but i'm glad that u  r  loving the hb.  hey...whatever it takes 2 have a smooooth noggin'.

I started out with a HB myself, but I now use the Fusion manual like warhawk.

It will take a few times to get it down.

I use mine all the time to do the bulk of the scrape but then go back with my fusion to clean it up.

If you take it slow and give it some time, you will be very comfortable with it. Just keep the pressure on the rear wheels, not too much, and after a while you will get a feel for it.
I remember getting lift when I first started using it too. It is definitely the right tool for the job.

Had my second shave with the HB today, and did better with keeping the wheels down. One issue that I am having is cleaning the blade. There doesn't seem to have sufficient access to both sides of the blades, to aid with cleaning out the gunk. What blades do you guys use, and are they easier to clean than the HB cartridge?

Dadillac, I'm not a HB user.  I have one, but never could quite get the hang of it.  I think from my experience that is exactly the trick to using it....getting the right amount of pressure on the rear.  Good luck and what ever you do, just keep it smooth.

Don, I use the Atra plus double as my main blade. Although I have been using the HB triple for the last month, and I find I've gotten used to them.
I also use the Sensor doubles. So I am a fan of all three.
I think you need to try a few and see how they work for you.
As far as rinsing, I find if you just run it under the water directly it works well (I am a shower shaver).
At the sink when I shave my face and do cleanup (which is much less area than when I started),
I have the basin filled with water, and I just dip the blade in and rinse.
As time goes on and you become more familiar with the HB, you will find it all becomes much easier.
