I haven't been called a skinhead yet, but it's only been 2 months sly.

This past Saturday while driving down a main road in our town, some dope was weaving back and forth between cars very fast.  When I pulled up next to him at a light, with my sunglasses and leather baseball cap, and flipped him the bird, he made a sign for me to calm down.  Geez, I don't remember having that effect on people in the past.  My slyness seems to be giving everyone the impression that I'm a bad a$$, which I'm really not. (unless a reckless driver almost runs me off the road)

From the looks of your avatar, I can see why the guy was intimidated.  Make sure to use that to your advantage, Bro. :*))

It's certainly a new experience for me.  I've always been that guy that everyone gets along with.  In fact, I'm often the one that tries to mediate trouble between people - family, friends, and co-workers.  It's interesting how a new look can make people's first impressions change so much.  But, it is fun ...   DAMN IT!!! :Xo!

Andrew, I have always thought that since you posted your sly pic, that you looked intimidating.  But I know from experience that you can't judge a book by it's cover.  I work at a carpet warehouse store and when I first started working there, a former warehouse guy came to work a day or two there.  Later when we talked, he told me that I looked pretty mean.  Most people will find that I am actually pretty soft spoken.  So, if I just keep my mouth shut, I'd get more respect!

I get alot of comments that I look mean and I have had people self intimidate themselves off my looks, whatever... I guess they just assume too much.

Growing up in the punk rock scene, I would get skinhead comments but many of my friends are Hispanic etc. so I have never been accused of being racist (most people that know skinheads know they are not all racist).

I have made conscious decisions to thwart this negativity... I was shopping for a new winter coat recently and came across a sweet flight jacket... bad idea.

Hey Marsh...what carpet warehouse you work at?  I am a store manager for a retail carpet business.  Just curious.

old ladies tend to cross the road when I'm walkin past, but then I give em the smile and they always look plesantly surprised.  Sometimes when I'm in a store I can see the security guards keepin an eye on me as if they think I'll be stealin something soon as their backs are turned.

Its an image thing: people see the shaved head and immediately assume you're a bad a$$, but when they get to know me they soon realise they were wrong.

But I agree with andrew that its FUN sometimes! 8)

Thankfully, no racist or skinhead comments thrown my way.

Yesterday, I saw one of my daughter's friends (both 14  year-olds) for the first time since going sly.  Her comments were "I love it.  You look really ghetto."    I'm glad she liked it but not quite sure what the "ghetto" look is.
