Pre-sly photos
« on: October 25, 2007, 07:20:34 PM »
I came across some photos from my pre-sly days, taken in 2000 and 2001.  This was around the time that I was in the "should I or shouldn't I"  phase. All I can say now is I SHOULD have done it right then and there.  The thinning and recession was much worse than I thought it was at the time.  Back then I was still waiting to lose more hair before I ditched it all for good.

I would never recognize that as you.  Just doesn't look like you at all.  Sly is a huge improvement.  You look much younger now.

If I had a scanner, I'd post some of these photos that I found.  They really make me cringe.

Kinda funny that I was talking to someone today and mentioned the year I graduated college and they guessed me 10 years younger.  Amazing what lack of gray hair will do.

That photo was taken about 10 months ago.  And while it was not a "good" photo of me anyway, it was a sort-of wake-up call.  Within less than 2 months of that photo I had found SBG's and had taken the plunge... and well, the rest is history.

So maybe we should start a worst before pic contest.  Kinda like a take-off of the clear headblade contest, to see the most-improved by going SLY.. and that person would be like our own "poster-boy" for going SLY.  I know I've seen alot of good ones.  Champ007 comes to mind.  So what do ya think???  And now for the prize....hmmmm... maybe an all-expenses paid trip to SBG's Convention 2008????   Or something of that caliber.

I finally found a photo from that time period that was on a CD.  This was taken in May 2001.  Not a real close-up shot, but you can get an idea regarding the thinning and recession.

Wow Razor, that is a great transformation.  In that pic you look like a stereotypical CPA.   $@y

I think it's good to periodically revisit these old photos and remind ourselves how we got to this point.  When I think about having hair, I remember it when it looked good and forget how bad it looked towards the end.  It's hard to believe that I waited another 2 1/2 years after that photo was taken to go permanently sly.  (I did shave it for the first time in January '02 but did not keep it very long).

Razor, I wouldn't have recognized you.  The old pic wasn't too bad; at least you weren't trying to do something 'creative' with your hair.  Sly is much better, though.

Hey Rick, I've seen that picture of you pre-sly before and I promise I would not recognize you.  I'll have to dig an old one out and let you guys see it.
