Welcome Asher!!!  I have been a King of Shaves oil user for seveal months.  Just recently tried Headslick and got terrible razor burns (but the best shave ever).  I had to go back to my oil only.

I hope something works for you.

an update, for anyone who cares.  today i showered, soaped my head, got out, baby-oiled my head, then headslicked it.  i went at it with the mach 3 (in front of the mirror) except this time i took to the sides of my head from back to front (the problem areas i have is the sides behind and above the ears), instead of bottom to top like i'd done forever.  MUCH BETTER.  it's not 100%, but it's 50% better, and still as close.  thank all of you for the advice, it really put me on the right track.

one thing, i tried putting rubbing alcohol on my blades after the first shave--do it, it works.  that blade was smoother the second time than any once-used blade i've ever applied to my dome.

Asher, great to hear that you're making progress!
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

I've found the "ice rub" to be a welcomed addition to my head shave routine. Not only does it help to calm the burn and/or bumps, but it is also a good way to wake yourself up a bit too. :o :o

I've noticed that this last week it's been cold here in the morings and it's really hard to do the ice and cold water thing.  Still try to do it.  Not sure what it's gonna be like on one of these cold Kansas January mornings when you wake up and the house is still cold.  Probably won't need the ice then, the noggin will already be cold. :/O

Asher, first of all, welcome!!!  Secondly, thanks for the rubbing alcohol advice - like WH I'm gonna try that out.  Also, wanted to let you know that if you are seeking a shaving gel that doesn't turn to cream on your head, your best bet is the Bald Guyz shaving gel - it's clear and has a lemony scent.  I've found that it really helps with irritation.  Go to www.baldguyz.com to order.

thanks scott, i hear that and will order some tomorrow.  it seems natural that a gel would be a smoother lubricant than a cream, right?
