That pesky shadow of hair!!
« on: October 09, 2007, 08:57:01 PM »
Ok fellow sly guys. Here is a question:
I know i have only had my head shaved for a few weeks. But even with shaving twice a day,i still have to look at that dark shadow of hairs on my scalp. And it is driving me crazy!!
Maybe i need some sun, maybe some time.

Which is it?How long did it take for your head to gain that smooth, singular look?
Where you don't see the colour difference from the hairless to the dark???

Jim

go out and buy one of those scalp skin domes ( they usually sell them at walmart around halloween) thats what we all use in here.  If the plastic skin is to peachy  or not tan enough..just get some paste shoe wax and rub it in and just blend until it reaches the color or your natural skin. WOrks wonders.

 :*)) :*))

Bro...if there was an answer to that I would be right on it.  I still have the dark shadow at times..but once we finally go completely bald naturally...it is somethign we are just gonna have to deal with until that day comes

That shadow will fade as you find that perfect shave routine (usually against the grain) and as your get more sun.  If those two don't help, you can always look forward to the day you lose all your hair naturally.
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

Yeah Handlebar, Unfortunatley having shadow is something you are just going to have to learn to deal with being a headshaver if you are BBC. You can help reduce the look of shadow by getting some sun and using a good moistueriser for good shine. Aside from losing it naturally or permanent hair removal(laser, tweezing) there is no way to completley ditch the shadow.

At the beginning this is something that bothered the hell out of me but you learn to deal with it. O0

you know I got to thinking about the "shadow of hair".  I kinda like it that way.  That way people will KNOW that I CHOOSE to do it, not because they think I am just bald.  It gives the people the thought...wow that guy really likes to shave his head.  I sorta like it if you think of it that way.

Tim, good post bro. I totally agree with this, and I was going to say the same. It's the message I like to convey to people. I feel it shows we've chosen to take control over it, and we will not cover it up with rug or plug.
I also like the fact that the stubble tells me I'll be shaving the next day, which is a great part of being sly!

jdog....well said, brah O0  handlebar....that shadow is something that all of us just deal with.  it is just like having the 5'0 clock shadow on your face but instead it's on the dome.   >:(

Hey XNew....its so funny to hear you say that.  Especially with the hell of time  we had getting you off the fence.  Yes the ritual of shaving has now stepped up a notch.

Wait a sec my brudda, I don't think I sat on the fence too long, especially compared to JohnMont, right? lol.   ;D

I never expected it to be so enjoyable and, dare I say empowering?, I just know there's nothing like the feeling of a freshly shaven, smooth and sly noggin'. I feel I can face anything!.   O0

The skin on yer noggin will eventually get "seasoned" just like the skin on yer face.

By that I mean....think of when you shave your face.........even though you eventually need to shave again, at least the skin on yer face looks "normal" and not bluish-grey like on the "unseasoned" noggin.

I doubt that anybody is putting that much thought into it.  The rest of the world really doesn't care that much and doesn't spend a great deal of time obsessing over the things we like to obsess over.    ^-^
