Who are the sly people in your life?

As mainstream as the sly look has become, I'm still finding that there's nobody else amongst my inner circle of family and friends who has adopted the look. Before I took the plunge, I used to wish that somebody close to me would do it first, to make it easier for me to follow suit, but that never happened. I just seemed to be way ahead of all my friends in the hair loss department.

My trainer at the gym buzzes down to about a zero-guard, but I haven't been able to talk him into scraping it clean. I have one other friend who's a few months older than I am. Just very recently his thinning seems to have progressed to the point where he probably would look better sly, but I doubt that he'll ever do it. I'd offer encouragement if he expressed a desire to try it, but it's just not something we've ever talked about.

I have one friend and colleague at work who is MPB and has been sly for years. Of my close circle, I have a brother-in-law who is thinning and receding badly and a very close friend who has the horseshoe and combover, but neither will shave it down and live the good life. Unfortunately neither of them seem to see sly as the way to go, even though I have extolled the freedom and virtue of shaving it clean. Being BBC I always hope they will see that if a guy with a full head of hair enjoys the sly life that they should get on board and shave it off. The fact that both men are very confident individuals may have something to do with it but for straight appearance sake they need to go sly.

You guys are currently the only sly people in my life. I have a few colleagues that need to go sly, but apparently they like holding on to imperfection.

No one else in my immediate family. There are 5 SLY brothers in our church. 3 of us are in the same Sunday School Class. 2 of us play in the praise band (we are the bookends).

Don't have any SLY people in my life.
I have a few friends and family members with buzz-cuts who don't have the guts to go the SLY distance.

I actually have a bit of friends who are now sly. Two are friends I have made on the internet and are part of my Christian Chromedomes group on Yahoo who I keep in touch with and have actually met and grown close to. Another two friends are guys I have known for years who had extreme MPB. I know that I convinced one to finally ditch the fringe said that I inspired him to go sly along with his brother already being sly. The other friend I kept bugging for years to do it. But in the case of that friend, I don't know if I actually had a influence. He ended up moving to Florida, so the heat probably influenced him along with his sly dad and brother. Now he is in Alaska and is staying sly since he now feels the MPB fringe looks like Bozo the Clown. Then the last friend is a good friend from church who is my co-leader in a home fellowship group. No relatives are sly yet, although my cousin Tom's daughters feel he should go sly. He has about the same hair loss pattern as I do and would look good if he did. But I would say that 5 sly friends is doing pretty good!

Please say hi to Dominic.
Yup he's one of the two coolest headshavers I've ever known. But you're #1 in my book. You and Dom gave me lots of encouragement and made my BBC transition a smooth one.
One of these days my wife and I will make it over to the Northwest and meet up with you and your wives, and Timpac and Slick Eric over in Portland too!
Cheers, Ben

I will have to agree. I dont really have anyone in my life that is bbc. I have 1 friend who i very seldomly see that started shaving his head about 4 years ago. He was really thin in highschool. I guess I will have to say you all are the ones in my life right now. I went to a wedding reception last weekend adn I have an older cousin who is in his mid 40's after seeing me for the first time is really considering shaving his off. I seen his daughter the other day and she said thanks alot. I said WHAT FOR? she said Dad will not stop talking about yoru bald head and now he wants to do it. I say go for it...if you dont like it...it will grow back. Plain and simple.

Jdoggy is my sly guy!
My older bro had MPB, and was very very depressed about it for a long time - he started buzzing it super short but still hated it, and now he has spent $1000's on some treatment that gets the hair growing again, it has worked he has a full head of hair again - he is happy about it - but I wonder how long it lasts??? Maybe one day he will go sly!!

No one in my family is sly but my brother and father should be, serious MPB. I do have a couple of friends but they are in Florida and I don't see them much. They haven't seem me sly yet. There are a couple of guys that I run into at the stores I work in that scrape it.
