I have the military face so I keep clean shaven.  I just don't look right with facial hairs. 

Sir Harry:
I have seen some (formerly) sly guys grow out their fringe, and a few went down to a mustache, but I'd say the majority of them are probably north of 60 years old, when you get to a point it doesn't matter. YMMV
