A tanned bald head definitely looks better than a pale one.

I like a good tan, however, dry skin can also cause problems because it's white so I use a moisturizer, then get a tan.  Looks pretty good and have gotton lots of compliments.  My doctor told me to wear a hat but the moisterizer has spf30 in it so I guess I'm covered.

Makes all the difference.

You can tell who's been shaving his head for years and who just start to do it.

Oh, in that case I'm going to try to get a nice tan that includes my head. I still get that dark shadow even after shaving.

Getting a tan will not take away that dark shadow.  The only thing that will do that is laser hair removal.  Having said that there are certain things to consider.

First, there?s nothing at all wrong with that dark shadow. It is a very natural thing.
Second, if you really don?t like the remaining hair, you could have it removed with laser hair removal, but you absolutely must do it before any of the hair turned gray because the laser will not affect gray hair.  Laser hair removal, however, is a big commitment and can be a bit expensive.
Third, ifyour dark shadow is only the horseshoe from male pattern baldest, you can easily have the rest of your head even doubt with scalp, micro pigmentation for a very low cost, and it will look great.  That is what I have done and I?m absolutely thrilled with the result of the SMP. The SMP has covered my bald areas and makes it look like I am BBC rather than BBN.!

I don't have a horseshoe dark shadow.  If I did, I would definitely look into lasering the rest of my head.
I don't think I will laser it for now.  If I can still grow out my hair fully, I may want to change my look again and let it grow.
