Thanks to everyone for their feedback.  Last night I took the plunge and joined the club.  Glad to be rid of that anxious feeling I was having to make the decision.

Yes, that looks good. Soon the color will even out and you will be rocking a n awesome bald head!

Let us know how the reactions go from people. Go for the 30 day rule.
Bald by choice, and loving it!

Congratulations @professor

It take 30 days to get your shaving routine perfected, or at least get it completed in an acceptable amount of time.  It take about the same amount of time to become accustomed to seeing yourself in the mirror without shock.  So do your best to stick with it for at least 30 days.  I recommend daily shaving for the 30 days, so you do not go back and forth with seeing stubble.  After that some guys back off to every other day, or even every third day.  But man of us like to remain smooth and stubble free so we continue with daily shaving.

@slybeard thank you for the shaving advice.  One question, I got several small cuts when shaving will they simply get cut open again if I shave again so soon or do i need to give them a couple of days to heal?

Looks really good.  Keep shaving daily and the cuts won't be a problem.  Suggest exposing the skull to small doses of sun (not in middle of day) and the color will even up.

i agree with nuts about getting some sun.after i shaved my head for the first time that area was white,i was tempted to let it grow back but then i read on this web sight to get some sun,so i did and it helped, and its over a year now and i love it thanks to the guys on this sight.

You can also use a little self tanning lotion until it evens out.

If they're small cuts you should be fine to go over them the next day. Small cuts will heal very quickly and leave no scab. If in doubt wait a day or two.
Be careful with the sun. Not sure what it's like in your part of the world but it is brutal in Perth summers. I only ever got sunburn on the dome once and will NEVER do that again. It hurt...a lot.
Agree with the others though. The look suits you.

Usually when guys ask this question I tell them to do whatever they think looks best.  But this time, I just have to be honest with you, that  buzz cut looked awful on you.  Your hair loss is so advanced that the buzz made it even more obvious!  It looked like you were in some kind of "denial".

You OWN the shaved dome!  You CHOOSE this style.  You are a Confident man who chooses to shave his head.  OWN IT.  ROCK IT!

@Semi-Sly, your observation is exactly what I was always wary of and the main reason that pushed me to look for advice. You never want to be the one who is holding onto something when it is clear what the end result will be. Now entering my third week of shaving and couldn’t be happier.
