hair-raising story

siriously sounds interessting, but
a. i bet this will be expensice
b. beeing or going bald isn't to bad to spent a lot of money for a full head of hair
(would be just more to shave ;-))
c. and what about the long-term effect, who knows what else will grow on your head, hehe.

all i seen were the words treatment and injections....and I closed it out. I seriously wanna ask you all a question.....and this just came to thought....
When we see each other in here....especially those of us who have been around here for a while...( speaking of....June is my 1 year anniversary of going SLICK! Yippee) do we see each other as a bunch of bald men or do we see each other as brothers and the sight of your slick noggin to another doesnt really mean as much as it did when we first met? I guess Im just saying it just feels so natural amongst those of us in here who become good friends. Now when I see someone outside of here and around town....I see them and make a comment either to myself or to that person on how good his noggin looks. So what do you all think? Did I make any sense in what I was tryin to say?

Tim, I think that what we share as Sly Bald Guys is the common experience of going or being bald by our own choice and rejecting the idea that we can only be good looking by having hair. We live in a culture that celebrates youth and good looks in a very packaged glossy way. We've been sold this bill of goods of what is an acceptable look in order to sell us lots of other products. The mere idea that we all want our hair back is a fallacy we must continue to reject very loudly. Stepping off soapbox now . . .

Well said, Red!

Don't think I extended my welcome to SBG.
Glad to have you on board.

You said it right there! We should be celebrated the most, after all, we're the glossiest of all, or at least our domes are anyway.

Tim-
I never look at myself as a bald guy, but like any other group of people with something in common, I take notice of other slick domes. When I was away for Memorial Day, I had gone to get ice and there was a SLY guy entering the store as i was leaving. he looked dead at me and I very simply said, 'Now that's a great haircut'. he chuckled and responded enthusiastically, "The best!".
The point is that my baldness, yours, and everyone else's in here is secondary to me. There are a lot of great guys on this Forum and I enjoy the stories, discussions, etc. from the guys all over the country a well as the world. There are MANY guys in here I'd love to have beers with... for a variety of reasons..... and yes you're one of them (if those damn red and whites stay home!).
