Rugrats..and a bald head......
« on: September 08, 2007, 12:07:14 AM »
Just a quick, comment, words, feeling, thoughts to my fellow bald brothers that go on about how they LOVE the whole "shave ritual" and would HATE losing it to have a perfectly bald hairless head 24/7.....

obviously you don't have a 1 year old attatched to your leg, wanting your attention, while you're all loaded up with shaving creme on your head and face , trying to make an appointment to get some health insurance and still look presentable to the outside world...

and this happens one way or another a lot these days...squeezing in the MANDATORY daily shave is hard these days, especially since I'm not working and the weekends can sometimes be harder to get a slick shave before we leave to go out...

geez...I would LOVE to be slick bald 24/7...especially if I NEVER had to shave again...

I'm not angry or nothin'...my head is still squeaky clean smooth...just more of an effort these days..

Just wanted to keep you posted on the first chapter of the "tale of my great experimental adventure"..at least so far lads....

Keep shin'in my bald bros! O0

I hear ya BA!  I won't have a 1 year old on my leg for well, another year or so.  But, I do know it's going to be harder when the baby gets here.  You looking to do design work still up there?

Right with ya, BA.   Have never truly understood the comments about "loving" the shave ritual.  I DO love the slick smooth feel and don't like being without it, but would have no problem taking a pill or whatever and never having to shave again.  Even without a one year old wanting my attention there are times that life gets too hectic but can't leave the house without being "clean"  Continued good luck on the "great experimental adventure" bro O0

I dunno, mates....

The way I look at it, I don't shave everyday...sometimes go several days....and I certainly don't necessarily "Love" the routine...

But, in my case, I just look at it as laziness and/or procrastination that keeps me from the daily slickmeister.  Kids, hectic schedule.....I don't think so.

C'mon, what's it take.... 10 minutes?   Hey! imagine how much more we could get done in life and with the kids if we only showered once or twice a week!   Take away from that, the time it takes to brush our teeth.....man, now we're really freeing up time!  $c#m

Forgive the sarcasm, I couldn't resist...and I ain't bashin' yer thoughts, BA....

Yeah I'll hit the snooze button one more time and then skip the shave.....I'll hit it again and skip putting in my contacts. (folks know when I was grabbing a few extra winks when I show up with stubble and wearing my spectacles LOL.) .... hell, I'll skip the shave to stay logged on HERE for an extra ten minutes (now that's frightening).

I dunno, in my self-talk I try to call a spade a spade.....LAZY...PROCRASTINATION....but it is a result of not "LOVING" the actual act and ritual....

Yeah, a hot shower feels good....the morning shower helps get us going for the day....we like the result and feeling of cleanliness and freshness.....but who really "LOVES" the act and ritual of taking a shower and brushing their teeth.....same with scrapin' the noggin.

Wow...coffee can make ya go on about such relatively insignificant stuff.

No offense, BA .... just caffeine-fueled Meister Musings  O0

Please...no offense at all....but you're talkin' to a 13 yr daily headshaver here...

never skipped....not lazy...just trying to adjust to a new life...

try to rememebr in the early days with the kids...

I know it can be easy to forget what it was like...the first "baby" months seem like 10 years ago now..

Oh...and we've moved 1000 miles away and are trying to settle in...always good to TRY to put yourself in another dudes shoes every now and then...

No offense though, bro! :)

Even without kids, I find sometimes on the weekends, it's hard to get the shave in.  I tend to get caught up in other things that I want to get out of the way first, and before I know it, half the day is gone.  I really can't skip more than one day anymore without getting bumps.

I have to confess,  I do go one or two days w/o shaving.  Like doing it every day to keep smooth; but sometimes; just don't feel like it or don't feel I have the time.

During my first month of slyness, I hated to 'velcro effect; even after 12 hours or so ; ...  now I'm willing to live with it  (for a couple days at a time, anyway)

When I first saw the title of this thread I thought this was going to be about Tommy Pickles ~ the cool little SLY headed dude on the "Rugrats"!!  O:O

You can see what my little Rugrats have me watching. :*))
Sad to say he is no longer a SLY brutha now that he's "All Grown Up". :(

Hey you guys I see the tomatoes coming my way.

Have a SLY day SLY bruthas! O0

Andre you are a BBC Headshaving icon bro . I can imagine the little guy requires a lot of  your attention (as mine does) and it is hard to always fit in the head shave ritual. I find it very difficult to miss my daily shave routine and have gone only a few times longer than 24 hours without a headshave O0

With your busy schedule and all I'm sure its been a bit hectic lately but always take comfort in the peace that a headshave gives you.

Hey BA, sounds to me like you're a sink shaver, brudda, why not give the shower shave a shot? That could help a bit, but with a toddler about, I'm sure all of your time is spoken for, lol.
I don't have to worry about that as much now, since my daughter is going on seven, but I do remember those days where you can't be out of their sight.
Just gotta enjoy each stage, bro. It goes quick!
