Hi everyone

Ended up on this forum while googling possible reasons for my very rapid hair loss.

Knowing that it's most likely mpb, I would just like to shave it all off and be done with it. However, since it's diffuse hair loss and the hairs themselves don't seem thinner than on other parts of my body, I have to wait a couple of months until a dermatologist can take a look at it. Can't very well shave off the evidence :p

So here's my issue: my hair is going really fast and it's causing me anxiety. For now my entire head is still covered with hair and it's not very noticeable, but at this rate in the next two months it could be nearly completely gone. How do I keep myself from going insane while I wait out the next two months?

PS: other gay guys, how much should I worry about going bald, given that I can't grow a beard? I'm basically going to end up as a short bald twink XD

Having a bald head and no facial hair often is a signal to others that you are gay.

There are things that could be happening to you that would be far worse than being short and bald, regardless of your age. FWIW, my boyfriend, who’s 16 years younger than I am and has a full head of beautiful black hair, has grown to love my bald head.

Easy for me to say, since I'm hairy AF and I've been able to grow a full beard since I was 16 (The way my mom puts it, the men in my family all have beards down to our feet), but I've known a lot of guys who couldn't grow much of a beard until later in their 20s. There may be hope for that yet. If not, well, I don't really associate baldness or shortness with twinkdom.

BTW, I'm 5'3", and my bf is 5'2", so there's nothing wrong with being short! And although he has a full head of hair, I of course do not, and nobody has given me any more grief about being short and bald, than he does for being short and having hair. On the contrary, everyone could see exactly where I was balding before because they all were looking down at my head. Now they can't see it anymore. :-)

As for the "is bald attractive to other gay guys" question...YES. It is. Can't help but notice how much more often my bf likes to rub my head since I went for it, and I get more attention when we're out and about, too.
