Hi!

Hi all! I'm new here; I've posted a few times but haven't really introduced myself as of yet. So here we go.
I'm a 36 year old native New Englander now living in beautiful Colorado, who just began shaving my head about three and a half weeks ago (Sunday before Thanksgiving). Against my (now former) barber's advice to progressively buzz it down over a few months and let myself and others get comfortable with the idea, I just went for it and took the plunge. I figured 15+ years of hating my hair was enough, particularly after my genetic code decided to throw a receding hairline into the mix a few years back. I'm one of the lucky ones who decided I loved it instantly. Others' opinions don't mean much to me, other than my boyfriend's, and he loves it, so in my book, I win! (Incidentally, as a gay guy, I'm loving the positivity of this largely-straight community regarding that facet of the human experience. This really is a welcoming community, and it seems like nobody is afraid to stand up and be counted, and that's a big win in my book too.)
My main goal here, apart from some camaraderie and something to do while I'm at my glacially-paced desk job, is to keep up with the newest and best ways to take care of my bald head, and get advice if I run into any issues. I'm obviously quite new to this, and not naive enough to think I know everything there is to know less than a month in!
I can't see myself ever going back to having a full head of hair, even if it
weren't
falling out on its own. The confidence boost has been nothing short of incredible, and the time I spend shaving it each morning is far preferable to the time I spent washing it in the shower, or the time and money I spent fighting a losing battle at the barber shop. My only regret, as has been said a number of times on here already, is that I fought myself on it for years. I've wanted to do this since college and the only thing holding me back was fear of the unknown.
Looking forward to getting to know the community more, and I'll post pics at some point. Can't do it from a work computer, though!

Welcome to the board,
@underorbit
Post of photo of your smooth dome so we can put a face to the name. I was the same way when I first shaved, I loved it immediately, but it did take a little longer for my wife.

Welcome, sir! The before wasn't too bad, but the after looks great. Nice beard coverage, too! Enjoy and participate often.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! Agreed, I feel like I look so much better now. I thought my stringy, crappy, disappearing hair was making me look, for lack of a better word, tired.
