ShySlyGuy, Unfortunatley mate from your experience this is exactly how I started smoking again each time I tried to quit. I officially tried to quit about 10-15 times and every time was because friends and people around me did it and I thought it easier just to cave in and in the back of my mind I thought"Oh Well, I made it 15 days, I can do it again if I want to"

You will quit only when YOU are ready. Not on account of anyone else.

Yeh ... I know JDog - you're spot on there!  O0

TimmJ -- way to go mate, I'll definitely be routing for ya  O0

His heed was ballid, and schon as eny glas

Timm ... one day at a time ... don't thinkl about not smoking all day.  Deal with it each time you have a craving and not "I've got to ALL day without a smoke".

Well put bro.  wpruitt hit the nail on the head with this one.  That's another way I dealt with it.  Instead of thinking of the entire day I had to deal with I would just deal with the cravings as they came.  If you sit back and think, "Man, I have to make it another whole day without smoking."  It's just going to bother you that much more.  Just take it as it comes.  When you feel a craving coming on think of something to take your mind off of it or keep yourself busy the best way you can until you can work it out of your system.  I know it may seem silly, and I know you couldn't do this at work, but at home when you feel one coming on try doing something to get your heart rate going.  I'm by far no Dr. but it worked good for me.  Like when I would feel one coming on I would run in place, do some push ups, crunches, etc...Helped kill the cravings, helped my nerves, made me feel good to workout a bit, etc...Another thing I did was to get a healthy snack to munch on when I would feel one coming.  The best thing that worked for me, and that I had read about previous to trying it, was carrot sticks.  I had heard that a food with a crunchy texture would help with the oral fixation.(no jokes please guys  ;D)  But seriously, I kept a bag in the fridge and when I felt a "nic fit" coming on I would grab a few carrot sticks to munch on.

WEll folks ...Day 4 has come and gone.  Still strugglin ...but it is gettin easier.  At least I have now stopped stomping my foot while sitting.  It looked like i had a nervous twitch.  I really havent taken to food much to replace the cravings...but  i have increased my caffenine intake.  I am finding my self running out of my 36 oz Fountain pepsi earlier in the day adn find myself standing in line to get another before the day is over.  Im gonna do it this time I swear. I did hang warhawks pointers up adn I have marked my calender and stuff.  Thanks for the thoughts adn prayers....obviously they are working....

Keep it up bro!  You'll get there.

YES IM DOING IT!  and it feels sooo freakin great.  Only draw back is I have smoked for like 18 years...and my lungs are gettin cleaned out I guess...because if you were ever a smoker...i guess there are some things you have to deal with when you quit.  Like for instance....im getting rid of a bunch of gunk i guess that has built up over the years and ewwwwwwww its nasty.  And you know waht...this may sound funny to you all..but Dayum...I went to McDonalds....had a quarter pounder....Is that the true taste of a McDonalds burger?? that stuff was nasty.  i am starting to see the difference in the taste of food.  Which ..in a way can be a good thing or a bad thing.  It is making the bad things taste much better and the good things even better!  Do I see in the future me calling Richard Simmons for a work out.....1 and 2 and 1 and 2...3....4 LOL
