Another new guy...

Hello all. So last week I couldn't stand it anymore. The bald spot was getting bigger, the thinning was getting thinner, and the grey was getting grey-er. I used to say that "I'd rather my hair turn grey than turn loose", but lately both have been happening far too fast...
So... I began getting it cut shorter and shorter... #3, then #2, then #1, then no guard, etc. Finally, I shaved it. That was last week. Still getting used to it, but giving it the 30-day commitment before reconsidering. (I'm a wetshaver (DE blade) anyway, so that makes it much easier in the mornings.)
I guess I'm looking for someone to tell me I did the right/wrong thing, and any suggestions.
Good group here. Thanks.

Looks great BigJinTX, thats a keeper. I hada similar story to you. I recently saw a photo of myself, taken a while back and it was quite a shock, the grey and the bald spot, it made me really glad i have been shaving my head since April. NO hair is a statement of control.

Welcome, and your bald head looks great!
Yep, one of the main reasons I keep shaving my head is to eliminate the white hair. Mine was beyond grey, snow white. I think it takes off at least 10 years! And another plus for us with grey hair is no shadow. Looks great with a good tan.

I do realize shaved head doesn't add wisdom but at least one starts looking wise

Whether you needed to shave your head or not, the result turned out very fine.
Looks very natural.

Welcome, from one new guy to another.
Some people just dont have the right head for being bald. The Occipital bone at the rear top of the head is the largest factor in whether someone looks good bald or not. Some men have a rather protruding or long occipital bone, and this gives an alien or E.T. Effect which im pretty sure no one likes, unless someone somewhere has a fetish for alien heads.
This is not a problem for you sir! You look great, and as mentioned already it looks as though you've been shaving for a lot long than you have. It suits you well. Not to be odd about it, but when someone chooses bald, onlookers' attention will be drawn to the eyes as the main feature, where as men and women with hair drawn attention primarily to the hair. You have great eyes for the bald look, and it really gives you a sincere but experienced look. The kind of look i see an executive or ex marine putting out.
Good for you, dont be discouraged, you look great!

Thanks for all the kind words of support guys. I don't regret my decision. It's been only 5 days since I took the plunge, and I'm glad I did. I lost 40 pounds before doing it, and I'm glad I did.
I believe that removing hair from the head can remove years from one's appearance. I'm curious as to how old I appear to be in my picture above. Just throw a number out there. It's ok. I can handle it. Hell, I can handle anything.
Thanks again.
