I did it! (with picture)

I did what I was most afraid of and went and shaved my head.
I've been losing hair since I was 21 and hated it from the start. I was lucky to only have a slow receding hairline but this past year its been more noticeable. Around 12 months ago I started taking propecia and minoxidl but after around 9 months I could tell it wasn't working for me. Not only that but I had side effects - started holding fat and felt sluggish.
I quit the treatments 2 weeks ago and felt a bit down about it - like I had lost the battle. Then these past few days I thought why not just shave it - nobody will care. It stayed in my mind all day until finally I just went and did it - here are the results:

I might razor shave it tomorrow - didn't realise I don't own a razor!
Also, sorry for the topless photo - the other two came out a little blurry.
What do you think to it?

AJ is a good guy, and has a good eye for well shaved heads. Looks good, sir.
Welcome to SBG.
Don't worry about the shirtless photo. This is a guys site for one thing, and we have a whole section for tattoos and earrings. So post there, too, if you like.
When you get yourself a razor and give it a closer shave, I think you'll like it better. Initially, shave with the grain. Give it a week or so. Then also shave against the grain for a closer shave of the head.

Thanks guys - great to hear positive feedback!
I'm going out tomorrow to buy a razor and I'll post an update.
My facebook friends tell me I look like a convict but I'm pretty sure they are just teasing.

Looks great. Even if you don't do the razor, it suits your headshape well.

Thank you Dan! So are you.
Tellersquill: I recommend any of the Gillette razors like a Mach 3 or Fusion Proglide when it comes to initial shaving.

Thanks - did anyone else find it took a lot of courage to do?
I'd thought about doing it for so long before I took the chance.
Today I'm leaving the house as a bald man and that's going to be super weird for me. I'm probably going to be a little paranoid at first but the one thing I refuse to do is wear a hat!

Step out boldly. Enjoy the fresh head shave look. You've done something most of them have not had the ..... to do!
Just check the profile pictures here on SBG. How many look like ex-con men? Well, there's a few, LOL. But most rock the look, and you do too.

you will look great fully shaved. As far as having courage you have had it to get full sleeve tattoos and showing these. No hat indeed, nor long sleeve shirts.

I have a feeling you're going to love the look when you razor shave. With your nice head shape and the tats, you will rock the bald head. It will really feel different, many of us love the smooth dome.
Make sure you prep your head correctly and don't get too aggressive, it takes a couple of weeks for your skin to get used to shaving.

Congratulations for taking control and not becoming a slave for life to those drugs!
Yes, you are not the first man who had to muster the courage to take that first swipe with the razor. Many of us had that same anxiety.
