Going bald
« on: May 04, 2016, 12:30:52 PM »
Hey everyone,

so glad to have found this forum as it seems to be full of nice, supportive and confident people :-)

I'm going bald... there's no doubt about it and I always knew it as it runs in my family on my fathers side.

The things I worry about shaving my head are that:
- I have quite a thin beard (25 years of age, perhaps going to change yet?) and I do not wear glasses so all the attetion would be on the head (but I guess I could get glasses without diopter)
- I'm a small dude with perpahs a big head? Big ears? Big nose? I don't know :-D
- of "all" (that I read) the members asking whether to shave their head you guys always suggestet that they go for it. Is there really no one who would look worse shaven?

The reasons for shaving my head
- I go bald, I want to embrace it, I don't want to spend money, time and energy on hairloss treatment woodoo stuff
- when I decide to do something I do it (that's why I got bracelets three months ago) and I am starting to like this idea. Plus I cannot wait to see my girlfriends reaction.

So what do you think?

There is nothing wrong with your ears or your nose, so there is nothing to worry about.  Your head shape looks great and so it seems like a no brainer.  As you have already said take control of your destiny rather than waiting for hair loss.  You do not need a thicker beard what you have looks fine.

Welcome to the board, Trubka.

The question is not what we or anyone else thinks. What YOU want is what matters.

Are you happy with you hair as it is? If not, do you want to know what your head looks like shaved? If so, the only way to find out is to shave it.

I also see nothing wrong with your ears, nose or head size. Not every shaved man accessorizes with a beard, glasses, tattoos or earrings. Don't think you have to conform to any sort of mold or look.

If you want to take off what is receding up there, then grab the razor and do it. It is amazing how fast the anxiety over shaving goes away once you take that first swipe.

I will try to add my thoughts in respect to your native tongue:
Děláš si zbytečné starosti. Jste pohledný mladý muž. Vezměte horkou pěnu a holicí strojek a oholil si hlavu hladkou po dobu 90 dnů. Ty budou mít výsledky pro život čas!

I love your new look - man you are "owning it"!

Děkuji :-) Translation is just a little wonky but apprieciate it very much ;)

As I have very little experience with shaving I decied to have my head shaved in a saloon - tommorrow at 6 pm. I will feel more confident if a professional tells me their opinion and advice on how to trim the stubble etc.

I also read the "what didn't you expect when you went sly" threat and that was what "knocked me over the fence". Everyone here is so posivite and just enjoying being sly with such an ease.

Also the word sly sound much better to me then bald ;) Thanks, will post tomorrow.

Congratations!

I am glad you are happy with your decision.

There is nothing like that feeling of a newly shaved dome.
