I'm relatively new to being bald (deliberately so), although have had to endure only being able to keep short hair all my life. I have seborrheic dermatitis which is in part aggravated by my thick, thick hair. This causes irritation when I grow my hair, and becomes a cycle of itching, flaking and irritation.
I discovered years ago keeping VERY short hair made the itching go, and recently decided to shave my head. But enough of that, I love my hair-free look - as someone with self-confidence issues I find it awesome I actually want to look in the mirror lol.
I'm a fan of the old-fashioned safety razor (I have an Edwin Jagger, lovely razor) which I have to use every day. Blades are plentiful and cheap which is a bonus.
So I'm looking forward to learning some more about things - particularly regarding shaving direction, especially that spiral bit just on the top back of the head. I can never get that smooth no matter which direction I go in...
