I DID IT !!!
Had a great time on vacation, completely sly, and decided to make this permanent. I never would have made this decision w/o all of the support and encouragement from you guys. My wife has been bugging me to go sly for a few years, and mentions that it only took you guys 2 weeks.
Called my daughter on the way home and she's pissed off at me. I'll have to work through that with her, but I think she'll come around. Stopped at my mother's house on the way home and she loved it. More importantly, my wife loves it.
So, tomorrow is going to be a BIG SHOCKER at work. Not really looking forward to that, but I'm eager to get beyond it. I'm also eager for all my friends and family to see it. Then, I'm in the clear ....

Yeah, Andrew! Congrats! Tomorrow when you go to work, just remember who you're doing this for: YOU and not the folks you work with. I'm sure there will be a flurry of attention and comments...for about a day or two. Courage, brother!

Awesome Andrew. I new you would do it. Just remember what MLNHD said, you did this for you - not for the people at work. And the fact that your wife loves it makes it that much better. Your daughter will come around. She will see how happy and relaxed you are and she will support you. I guarantee it.

Well, I'm at work now and the big unveiling was much more uneventful than I expected. All of the women said it looked really good and a guy that I work with asked a few questions and then moved on.
My daughter made a big fuss last night but seemed to be focused on herself this morning while I was bringing her to school. So at least for the moment, she seems to be coming around.

You are the man, Andrew. I am so excited for you. It brings back memories of my unveiling. Scary as hell yet invigorating because I knew then I was in control of things.
I'll never forget when my 13 year daughter saw me for the first time - she looked at my head very suspiciously and finally said, "well, it doesn't look as bad as I thought it would." Then all of her friends thought it was cool so she came around in no time. Not a bad "compliment" from a 13 year old. I'm sure your daughter will see a happier you.
Congrats again. Choice well made.
