Greetings from a potentially future sly bald guy

Recently ive been obsessing over my hairline, im about norwood 2 nothing major. Went to a derm, says I have MPB. Hell I wish i came to this forum before all the other forums. Jumped on propecia for 5 days. Scared myself by looking at propeciahelp and looking at horror stories and immediately came off it (stupidity and vanity to begin with.)
I came across this forum after seeing it bashed on another forum and it was just great to see all the positive energy (it altered my mood and viewpoint actually). After reading the horror stories on propeciahelp, my mpb paled into insignificance as to what these guys are going through. I've had a long term relationship coming up to a decade so to wreck it for a bit of hair just seems pathetic now.
It just makes me feel so much better seeing the posts on here and how positive everyone is. The other forums make out MPB to be a death sentence and it really is depressing to read.
I will mainly lurk from time to time but I thought i'd introduce myself and mainly say thank you, it may seem weird but reading the supportive posts on here can be really empowering.

Hello and welcome! Thanks for the feedback. There are some really good guys on here. It sounds like you're not too far along as far as MPB goes yet. Whenever it does get bad, you can progressively go shorter until you get to slick bald.

Sounds corny, but you first have to love yourself and accept yourself the way you are. It will be better for you and your relationship.
That being said the best decision I ever made was to go bald. I was no longer worried about losing hair because I had none
Take a leap of faith. We've been through similar experiences and lived to tell the tale

Ha Ha ain't that the truth .Ive said it on here loads of times. There is nothing worse then a young guy going through the first phase of MPB and going online to one of them hairloss sites. If you weren't feeling great before you went online you are going to log off feeling a 100 times worse. I made that mistake when i started going bald at 20 it's not good for your moral so i would advise you to stay off those sites. It's full of guys who can't live without hair and want everyone else to be depressed with them. It's why they can't stand they guys on here who shaved and moved on and spend so much time mocking us. Just a note everyone's hair loss happens differently and depending on your age you could stay at a 2 for years before moving on. ON the head shaving side. It takes a lot of balls to do it but once you do the deed it is done. If you do go down that route give yourself a month to adjust. I can honestly say myself that my bald head has made no difference what so ever to my life.I can't even remember what it is like to hair now .LOL . Best of luck buddy .keep the head up and try not to worry so much .I wasted a good 5 years of my life worrying about my thinning hair before i said enough is enough and shaved it off. Best call for me personally i was at a crossroads when i shaved ,i could continue trying to fight my hair loss (a losing battle) and feeling sorry for myself or i could take control. For me personally shaving was the best call .It gave me freedom from silly worries .Best of luck in whatever path you take but please buddy do not waste another second of your time worrying about hair loss. It is not worth it .

I like this site, too, for it's positive and encouraging discussions about being bald. Whether BBN or BBC.

Welcome to the board!
I also have seen this board trashed on other sites, but I have to chuckle that it is the positive attitude here that makes the other sites so upset.
Take your time and do what makes you feel better about your situation. If you are like most of us here, however, you will be asking why you hesitated.

Welcome to the sly fraternity. All I gotta say is that the sooner you to it the better. When you do decide to do it; you are going to say to yourself . . . "why didn't I do this sooner". Keep us posted to your road to slyness.

Shave the dome and find out how liberating it is. Ignore the crass nonsense on the hair product and growth boards - they just want your money.

Just checking in again folks, when the anxiety hits me I tend to hit this place up and feel a lot better.
I'm not quite ready yet to become sly, I'll wait until I hit NW3 territory and then join the club! This is me reserving my spot in club
Thanks for all the comments, you're a brilliant bunch of dudes. I should also mention, you are all rocking the bald look well, you are tempting me to jump ship early.

Maybe it's better to actively choose to go sly now rather than be Darien there by circumstance ie when you reach someone else's arbitrary scale point.
