Thinking about shaving... Seeking opinions!
« on: March 25, 2016, 05:37:58 AM »
First of all, hello to everyone. It´s 4 a.m. here and i should be asleep but i just can´t since i found this forum about an hour ago, been reading a lot of encouraging stories from this awesome community! You guys are really Sly!  ;D ;D 8) 8)

On to my issue, my hair has been steadily thinning since i was 22, i had long hair but i noticed it was thinning fast! I´m now closing in to 26 and this is the aftermath of 4 years of trying to hide blatantly obvious bald spots and receeding.

As you can appreciate under lighting, the spots are really bad! It kicked in like that within the last 6 months or so. I've grown to accept my fate though... I've researched all possible "solutions" but it's all spending money that i honestly do not spare. Sooo i thought of shaving/buzzing.

I do have a lot of self consiousness about myself in general, though. I know I'm not the best looking wolf in the pack, but I try to keep a nice appearance. I reckon that my head does have a weird shape, it's kinda flat on the back and such, and I'm a pale dude even though I'm mexican LOL! But enough babbling about me, what do you guys think? Any advice you can provide?

Thanks in advance!! -Carlos S. O0 O0

I would go with a short buzz, and then shave.  Nothing wrong with your head shape.

Welcome to the group, Carlos!

Yes, I see some slight thinning, but I don't think that you're at the point yet that you absolutely have to razor shave (unless you WANT to). Since it is starting to warm up, now is the time to perhaps try a 1 guard first, but your hair already looks fairly buzzed in your photos. Check out some of the stories in the Introductions and To be or not to be bald sections of the forum and you'll see similar stories from other members. Good luck and feel free to ask questions, even if it is 4am ;D

Every guy that thinks about shaving also things they have an odd head shape.  Like others have said, try a short buzz first and shave when you are ready.  Keep the beard, facial hair helps take focus away from your scalp.

Go for it.  You don't "have" to shave now but the goal should always be to start shaving before it really becomes a necessity.  If you're starting to consider it, then it's time to do it.

Haha thanks! It's probably just in my head (pun intended). I have trouble growing a full beard but i'll do my best.

Your hair is fairly short already.  If you don't like how it looks shaved, it'd grow back fairly fast.  Why not try it?
