Not totally sure if i should have posted this here, or the product reviews section, but i need some advice. Bald by choice here, with a full head of rather thick hair, thick enough that even barbers would comment on it occasionally before i started shaving my head, and im a relative newcomer to baldness. Anyway im finding i cannot stand even the slightest bit of stubble, and due to my thick rather fast growing hair, that means i must shave it at least every day, if not twice a day to maintain it as i like. Ok, not a problem, i also shave other parts of my body, and actuslly enjoy the process. However i find my scalp is a bit more sensitive than the skin on the rest of my body. I can comfortably shave elsewhere with no more than the water flowing over my skin while showering and get away with almost any 3 blade razor, but shaving my head i need the shaving cream, which im fine with. I dont mind spending a little bit more on shaving products for my head, but if anyone can give me some advice on a shaving cream or gel, and a good performing razor thats also great for sensitive skin, within a mid priced price range, not too expensive, i would greatly appreciate it. Currently using barbasol sensitive skin shave cream and a headblade atx, followed by gillette aftershave
I use Wal-Mart shaving oil and head slick, I get a good shave every day.
Ugh, i hate walmart. Used to work there, and the way they treated me was horrendous, as if my efforts at being the best employee i can be means nothing. But i do still shop there from time to time, when i need something quickly and cheaply. Anyway, thx for the advice, now any suggestions for a good razor to use, or do you think id be ok continuing to use the headblade even with my sensitive skin?
It will take a while for your skin to get used to shaving so regularly, I've been using a Gillette Mach3 and am really happy with it, you can also get the sensitive skin cartridges which have aloe vera also. I don't have much hair on my head these days so it is pretty easy on that, but has been really good on my face which is quite coarse in the hair and sensitive on the skin, I have tried loads of razors, electric and normal and keep coming back to the Mach3
Thats kinda what i was thinking of doing. Used to have one a long time ago that felt really nice shaving my face, but i stoppèd using it it for some reason i cant remember anymore. Will probably give it a try on my head next time i need to buy fresh blades.
