New Guy - sharing my story as a young baldie
« on: January 28, 2016, 04:11:32 AM »
Hi All,

So glad to have found this forum! It's great to read everyones experiences and advice!

I'm 24 years old and from Brisbane, Australia.

I started noticing my thinning about 2 years ago when I was 22 years old. Once I noticed considerable shedding and things weren't looking too thick up front - I knew the hair had to go. To be honest, while it took guts to do it... I was really happy to see the hair go.

I've been buzzing / shaving for about the last two years. Started off by spending a few months progressing slowly shorter and shorter, and have spent about the last 18 months - except for a few razor shaves every now and then, I'd giving myself a #1 all over once a week.

Late last year, I brought myself a set of "Wahl Balding Clippers" - which I absolutely love. I've started using these about 2-3 times a week with no guard to cut myself down pretty much to the skin for the last few weeks. Slowly getting used to it....

As for confidence, despite absolutely loving being bald - It's really taken me a while to feel confident as a bald guy. I'm still working on building up the confidence to take the next step and wear the full razor shave all the time. I've tried it a few times, not really sure as a skinny, light skinned and light haired guy I can pull it off...

Thanks for reading guys! Looking forward to being part of the "Sly" pack :)

Looks good on you man. I think you should take the 30 day challenge and razor it every day. By day 30 you will be a believer.

Welcome to the board, Jordan.

Yes, it all come down to doing what you want with your hair (or lack of it) and then owning it. Glad you are feeling good about your choice.

Hey Jordan,

I think you look pretty good!  I agree, try the 30 day challenge.  Afterward you'll be hooked on the fantastic feel of a smooth, freshly shaved head.  Give it a try, bro!

Hey Jordan!  This is a "no-brainer".  You look Damn Good bald!  With the hair gone people's eyes will immediately focus in on that fantastic smile of yours.

Do the Deed.  Do the 30 days - and then have a ball.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I've shaved a couple of times before and loved it! Feels fantastic, just got to build up the confidence to keep it. Doing 30 days of shaving with the balders every 2-3 days first, then hoping to progress to shaving from there. Will keep you all posted :)

Welcome.  I think you look superb.  Of course, I've only seen bald pictures, but I couldn't imagine you'd look better with hair.

For comparisons sake - here's me back in late 2013 with hair... Only a small amount of thinning at the time.
