New guy... im black
« on: January 13, 2016, 09:16:15 PM »
I just started shaving head in september... fucked my head all up at first. Razor burned the whole left side of head sh*t looked like a giant scab, as i got better it healed but i still have a dark spot there... smh. Ingrown hair bumps was an issue as well. I started shaving head in shower with soap lather instead of gel or cream. Definitely fights the bumps better. Any tips and tricks would be appreciated... thanks fellas

Welcome to the forum, Cbey.

Sorry your first shaves went wrong for you. I found that holding a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol against the ingrown hair dries and clears up the bumps quickly.

Glad you joined us.

Welcome! Is there a way you can post some pictures?

Looks good for a first shave. As far as the spot above your ear, you could see a dermatologist for some bleaching cream (doesn't look that bad) Or you can just wait and see if it will fade on it's own. If that spot is bothering you real bad, you can get some DermaBlend concealer at a high-end department store such as Macy's or J C Penney's. Welcome again, and thanks for the pics!

I had some trouble with bumps when I started too. At the time I was shaving every other day or so, but when I started shaving every day the bumps went away. It seems that wouldn't be the case, but a lot of the bumps are from ingrown hairs and not irritation from shaving.
