Flipping the blade?
« on: January 08, 2016, 10:52:44 AM »
I noticed my Astra blades have a 1/2,on one side, and a 3/4 on the other side. Do any of you flip the blade over for a second use of the blade? Any advantage?

I've never used them, but it sure sounds like it, cutting tips for lathes that get used each way are labeled like that

Makes no difference.  The numbers on the blade are just there to make you think they're useful.  Actually, I read they're used for internal QC purposes by the plants.

There's no advantage or disadvantage to flipping or rotating a DE blade (or an SE blade for that matter.
