It's that time again!
« on: December 29, 2015, 07:36:28 PM »
Happy Holidays, all!

I don't post much...it's just the way it is...but, I check in fairly regularly and my moral support is always there.

Today, 12/29/15 marks the 4th anniversary of my "joining the sly club".

Hardly seems that long ago....

I wasn't balding...was just looking for something different.

For those not sure yet....

After I had finished shaving for the first time.....I looked and thought, "Wow man, you look weird" as I had had long hair for years.

I got some reaction (truth be known, I still get it from time to time....but it's rare)...

And for quite a while....not sure how long, exactly, every time I looked in the mirror I wondered what the hell I must have been thinking...

But that slowly gave way to the fact that I liked how it looked, and I liked the new freedom, and convenience it gave me with regard of not having to worry about bad hair days.  (I mean...like it or not....I'm now consistent! :)  )

I was recently looking at some pictures from before 12/29/11 and suddenly realized the thought going through my head was, "Wow...I looked weird like that"!!

Yup...I can now say, I like my appearance more now, than I did then!

I do occasionally let it grow back to about a 1 length....but normally I'm either a 6x0 or shaved clean with a blade.

Go ahead....do it....it doesn't take long to grow back if you don't like it....but...give it a little time....you will...

And for all those "But my head looks funny" people...Everyone's head is different....EVERYONE's......got a little bump?  Got a little unevenness?   So what?

Just think...no more hats, no more sprays, gels, blowdryers, etc......you can sleep a little later in the morning....

And if you get in a fight.....the other guy won't have anything to grab on to (Long haired guys have a bit of a problem in that area! ...of course...don't get in fights...we're a peace loving bunch)

Anyway....I'm rambling...I don't post often, but when I do, it's a novella!

I close with...

Happy Holidays...and grab your clippers/razor!

Thanks Oz.  I am one of those people who thinks they look bad/old with a fully shaved head.  I need guys like you because I will be going fully sly again soon myself!

Hi Ozz, happy anniversary. My story is just like yours. When I shaved my full head of silver hair 2.5 years ago, I looked in the mirror and thought "I can't believe I shaved bald", I still think that sometimes. I keep attempting to grow it back, but continue the shave it again.

Bottom line is, I really like the bald look on me. I think the white hair makes me look older. I guess if you see other guys with a shaved head and think it looks great, that is why we stay shaved. I just saw a sly guy on the Today show, named Sean Henry. He is a security expert. He looked outstanding with no shadow or facial hair, and a very shiny head. Very nice look.
