A not so newbie!
« on: December 14, 2015, 01:50:00 PM »
Hey guys,
I've been a lurker here for years and never said hello, so as I'm planning some face fur to accompany my shiny dome I thought I'd take the plunge and ask for opinions on a length or style that may suit my face.

I've been shaving my head for the last 4 years so I don't know if I count as a newbie haha!
Admin please move this if it's not in the right spot.

James

Glad you stepped out the the lurker shadows and joined us, James!

I think your goat/circle beard looks good. Are you thinking of expanding its coverage?

That's what I'm not sure of, to go to a full beard or just grow the goatee to 3 or 4 inches long, I really don't know.

There are several of us on here that are in the 4 year category.  Me and Mr. Jules for two.

A full beard is always nice unless your wife objects severely.

My wife has never seen me in person without a beard, so it's not a problem here.

Welcome.  Nice to have you active on the site.

Welcome, James! No harm in trying the full beard, if you don't like it, you can shave it off.

Wecome.  I'm up to 11+ years shaved so definitely not a newbie.

The goatee looks good at the current length.  However why not try a full beard and see how that looks.  Facial hair plus a bald dome is the way to go - I'm not even bised.

Welcome  James , as for the beard , you won't know which is best till you try growing it. What you have looks  great.    O0

I asked my wife about a full beard last night..... let's just say I'll have to slowly sneak it into the house under cover of darkness haha!

I think I'll let the goatee get long and see if I can forget to shave the sides one day.

Thanks very much for the warm welcomes too!

My personal biased preference is that a full beard looks best with a shaved dome.  But I also believe that a shaved dome looks better with some facial hair than with none.  So my suggestion is to experiment, give the full beard a try.  Go for some length and have fun with it, you can always trim back.

Asking a wife should I grow a beard , is not the best of choices . Grow it and then if they give you a hard time consider shaving , she may like it or eventually like it. My wife at first did not care for mine , then after awhile she said she did. Who can figure out women.

True, maybe I'll let it grow out.

I think the goatee looks good on you. I wish I could rock some facial hair, but mine grows in too white. It ages me about 20 years. In your case it doesn't age you. Looks good.
