Effectiveness of a Safety Razor?

I decided to shave my head ~2 months ago, I've been using a Gillette 5x Blade razor and I've noticed that around 2-3 hours after the shave I already have noticeable stubble.
I was looking for a new razor and saw that a Safety Razor was mentioned a lot.
I was wondering if using a Safety Razor would extend the time of a clean shave?
Also, if it doesn't, would it be worth it (purely financially) to get a Safety Razor anyway?
Thanks!

When I shave with my safety razor, I feel a little stubble in about 4-6 hours.
Yes, safety razors are about the cheapest way to shave. 100 good blades for $10 on Amazon.

I use a Gillette fusion 5 blade during the week, and it gives a lovely smooth shave, and same as you, 3 hours and I can feel stubble.... my EJ safety razor gives a noticeable smoother shave with less shadow and lasts around 8 hours before I notice anything, so much so that I have gotten comments on how much less shadow there is

That's the same one I use!
Is there any reason why you don't use the EJ during the week? Does it take a while to shave the entire head?
thanks

A safety razor will give you a longer wait before you can notice your stubble growing back but the suave will take longer. That said, I really cannot stress how much more enjoyable de shaving is, so the extra time isn't really an issue for me. Will take some time to get used to and you will undoubtedly get teething problems for the first few weeks but I would stick at it as it'll be both financially beneficial as well as giving you better results :-)

They are pretty effective from my experience. It takes my a while to shave BBS because I'm still new at using the DE to shave my head but it's worth it for me to get up earlier in the morning so I can use the safety razor to shave my head before work as opposed to using my electric.

I've found when I use my headblade (either 2 or 4 blade cart) that I need to shave daily. When I use my de I can, and usually do, shave every day but I don't feel like I need to and notice a signification difference in how long my head stays smooth with de vs carts
