What's the best way? I use the headblade in the shower. But it takes a while and never does as good of a job as I'd like. I'm hoping someone here will know a better faster way. Thanks in advance guys.

I'd start out by using either a Mach 3 or Fusion. Stick with shaving in the shower since the hair comes off easier than shaving at the sink.

I always started by using a good scrub on your head first to get rid of any oil build up and dirt. This helps to strip hair clean and soften hair for shave. You will notice after you do this step first before you shave it will make your shaving a lot easier.

I've used headblade in the past and feel it irritated my skin too much. Switched to Mach 3 and now using Mach 3 sensitive and absolutely love it! I use headblade products but recently bought some beebald stuff and will be switching!

@ SlickChromeDome: Did you give up on safety razors? If so . . . I am sorry that it did not work out for you. For me . . . I have tried soooooooo many razors and the best razors for me is safety razors. Shaving the traditional way is a very zen-like, spa-like process that I enjoy.

I don't know if better cos I have never used a fusion or headblade, but I bought myself a Mach 3 while in highschool and it's been the best I've used over some others (can't remember which cos it's been so long) also better than any electric I've ever used they've all irritated my skin a lot, no matter what I did

So I'm tired of spending so much on razors haha. And if I use anything but the head blade the replacement blades are $20-$30. Headblade replacements are $14. What's the best and cheapest way to keep my head shaved? Someone said something about some cheap blades at Walmart that is barber recommended but I couldn't find them. I've spent way too much money over the years on blades hah. There's got to be a cheaper way.

You get what you pay for. If you can tolerate a less than super smooth dome, the cheaper blades will work. If you want a super smooth head shave each morning, you'll probably need to pay for the more expensive blades.
Here's an option to consider. Stock both cheap and expensive blades. Use the cheap ones on days where a super smooth head is not a necessity. Use the expensive blades for Sunday or a date.
Just like you might have both jeans and a tuxedo ... you wear one for gardening and one for the symphony.

The best deal I have found is at Costco. I got 18 Hydro 5 blades for 27.99. A really good deal considering a 4 pack at the grocery store is around 12 bucks.

Costco is awesome but how much is it that to join? That's another bill lol. Damn. It's expensive to shave lol. But I don't wanna go back to not shaving. Ever. And I hate not getting a nice smooth shave.

I have very good success with both the Persona M5 (similar to fusion, half the price), and the Micro touch. I rate the shave with these two on par with the fusion. The M5 can be purchased at many drug stores and on Amazon, and if you by in quantity on amazon they are even cheaper. I found the Micro Touch at Walmart, $20 for a razor and 12 cartridges, and decided to give it a try. It is a 3 blade and gives a smooth shave. I can get more than two week per cartridge with each and I am a daily shaver.

I haven't seen that at Walmart but I'll look again when I go in a few minutes thank you. Two weeks for one blade that's awesome. And it gives a good shave? Sick. Thanks bro

The Best Way to Shave Your Head - Always shave with the grain unless shaving against the grain works better for you.
- Only use a disposable razor unless a different razor works better for you.
- Only shave at the sink unless shaving somewhere else works better for you.
- Only shave with warm water unless cold or hot water work better for you.
- Only shave with pre-shave oil unless it doesn't help you.
See where I'm going with these?

The best way to shave your head is the way that you find, through trial and error, to work for you. It's a boring answer, but experience has taught me that it's true. I prefer to shave my head in the shower. Others don't. I love the HeadBlade. Others don't. etc.
Experiment and get to know your one and only head!
