This is what I use and it's worked well for me.  AVEENO® POSITIVELY SMOOTH® SHAVE GEL with a few drops of Shave Secret shave oil.  Fusion glides very smoothly with no irritation.  After shaving and rinsing with cold water, I put on AVEENO® MEN'S™ AFTER SHAVE LOTION.  Cools the head and gives it a nice shine.

So to answer your question, yes I would recommend a gel over foam.

It used to take me about 15 minutes in the beginning too.  But now I can get it done in about 5 minutes in the shower all by feel.  With experience, you'll get your technique down and you'll reduce your shave time.

Thanks for that buddy, I think my routine sounds pretty similar just the products available here are branded differently.

I have just got some oil so I will try it with that tomorrow. As in at work now...

Wash head in the shower, oil, shave gel, WTG, ATG, rinse with hot and then cold water & then a post shave balm

How does that sound?

Hi Toby:  Welcome to the sly fraternity.  You look like a natural.  I cannot imagine you with hair.

Cheers guys!

I keep thinking about trimmers instead of shaving but the finish a razor gives me is too good... I just worry about razor burn & nicks
