Hi All,
Long time reader, first time poster. I am seriously debating taking the plunge and shaving my head. Any words of encouragement/warning would be greatly appreciated. The photo above is my current style.

Do you want to shave your head? If so, then what is stopping you?
It is your head and your hair. The hardest part is taking the first swipe. If you have that "itch" to shave, the only way you are going to get the idea out of your conscious is to grab the clippers/razor and start.
Welcome to the board!

Take the plunge and shave it. If you don't like it your hair will grow back within a short time. But there is no reason why you should not like your shaved dome.

I want to shave my head, but its been my impression that its a style for balding men, going "Mr. Clean" on a full head of hair isn't that common. I don't know if it would be a good fit for me. Its reassuring that I'm virtually guaranteed to like it since it may take a few months to return to normal if I don't.
Cave Dweller may be right. I just might have to "scratch" the scalp! Should I really go through with it though?

Yes, you should. I have a full head of hair still, and I am more than happy to keep it shaved. You obviously seem interested, and there's no reason not to try it out.

Give it a try! It's not something permanent, at least you have the option to grow it back!

Would the look suit me?
My honest opinion is that the look suits just about every head.
This is a point in which you have to have the courage to make up your own mind to do something you want for yourself. You are not alone in worrying about it. A lot of guys come here with the same anxiety. I spent about two months pondering whether or not to take the plunge.
All I can tell you is that almost everyone who went ahead with going smooth has posted that they now wondered why they waited so long to do it.

Hi All,
I got up the courage to have my head shaved at the barbershop today. Below is a before pic, during (after the clippers, before getting lathered up), and after. What do you guys think? Should I start shaving it myself tomorrow or let it grow? I'm on the fence. Thanks for all the encouragement so far, helps to get the extra little nudge to do the deed.

IMHO it is a definite improvement. But you have to ask yourself; "How does it feel"? If you like the way it feels then you owe it to yourself to take the 30 day challenge. Don't make any decisions until you have given yourself 30 days to test fly life as a Sly Bald Guy.

Congratulations on taking those proverbial reins and doing it. It turned out good!
As Semi-Sly said, keep it shaved and hold off on making any decision about whether to grow everything back for thirty days. Let yourself and everyone else get accustomed to the look first.
Meanwhile, enjoy the smooth. There is nothing quite like that feeling.

Good on you. Yes, I think you should keep it for a while, and, yes, I think you should try shaving it yourself now.
