hey my fellow sly brahs,
if i leave the house without my cellphone.... i feel naked. it's like leaving the house with 2 day old stubble on the dome. anyways, if i leave the house without the cell, i have 2 go back 2 the house 2 get it. it's AMAZING everyone has cellphones these days... i c elementary kids with them. if u r driving, b4 u finish your destination u will atleast c one person in a car talking on their cell phones.
i was wondering what type of cell phone do u have & if u plan on upgrading & if u r satisfied with your provider. i'll start 1st.... i have a simple but kool razr phone & i plan on upgrading when the contract expires next year (don't know what phone though) & my provider is t-mobile. i luv their plans & customer service but sometimes i can't get any calls when i'm at a certain spot in town. when i'm working @ the hospital.... i get crappy signals. anyways..... it's your turn & hey... maybe u can give me some good points on your provider because i may switch when my contract expires.
keep it sly,
WARHAWK

Warhawk, I am with Verizon and I am on their "New every 2 Plan", where you get a new phone every 2 years. I was just looking online since I am eligible to upgrade. I am looking at upgrading to an "enV" by LG. It has a 2 megapixel camera and a built in MP3 player and is bluetooth capable. If I sign a new 2 year agreement, the phone will be free. I have been with Verizon for over 10 years and have been satified with their service and coverage. Everytime that I've looked at changing to a cheaper provider, I see that their coverage and/or service is not very good. and end up staying with what I've got.

Both the wife and I are with Verizon. We have been for 7 years now and love it. As far as my phone goes it's a black Samsung. Not sure of the model and all that. It's one that is an mp3 player also. I'm not really into having too much technology in my phone. I have it mainly for what it's supposed to be for...To make calls. The only reason I ended up with one in the first place is because I wanted my wife to have one to make me feel more secure when she was taking some classes late at night a while back. When I went to pick her one out they had a buy 1 get one free deal so I said, "what the heck?" I've been hooked ever since. It's like Warhawk said, I feel like I can't leave the house without it. As a matter of fact it never leaves my side. For real. It's always in my pocket even when I'm just chillin' around the house. Crazy!!! To think years ago we didn't even think twice about them.

Sprint here for years. I get a 25% discount through work for a personal account, and I just can't seem to ever beat that deal. I can't really complain too much about their service/coverage, although years ago, their reception was spotty. The last couple phones I've had were Samsungs with no problems. Like Robmeister, I'm a no frills guy who just wants reliability. Warhawk, you should probably go for the easiest phone you can for text messaging; I'm assuming based on how you post messages (u, r, 4, 2, b) that you must be a heavy text message guy. Sometimes I think you are talking in a different language.

I've got the Nokia N73 through the Vodaphone network. Very good in the Sydney metro area but coverage can be spotty in some rural areas. Got the phone free on 24month contract.
I chose the phone primarily for the 3.2mp camera on it that is very easy to use.

Verizon Nationwide for me. I've been getting great service and reception even in the northwoods where no other than local services seem to work. With Robmeister and Lance on the minimal technologyh bit, only need a phone and none of that other garbage, Hell I don't even like getting and have never sent a text message, that's what email is for.

Warhawk, Sony Ericsson make great phones. I have the k800i and it takes great pics and videos. There's now the K810i out and I believe the camera on it is even better (it's also more compact and aesthetically pleasing than the K800i)
but, I can't wait till this one comes out... the k850
http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2007/06/sony_ericsson_cybershot_k850.htmlI'm with t-mobile too, and I think their network coverage sucks. I am looking to changing when I get my next phone.

Even though I don't have one... This sounds like it could be the official cell phone of SBG's...

I use to have a Nokia 3500 or something like that, realy old phone like 10 years old now, only game it had was snake and some stupid memory game.
Then I up graded to a Motorolla man I don't remember it was the fist flip phone that had call display on the outside, the anntenna was cheap though and broke on me like 15 times no lie. I was going to upgrade but than I realized that, I don't get that many calls from anyone nor do I use the phone enough to justify having a Cell anymore. Back when I was single, and a lady's man I had the cell on 24/7 and got calls after calls after calls. No joke.
We are thinking about getting a Motorolla Razor, but we both think it's an expense we do not need, we may just get the motorolla turned into a pay as you go for the few times we need a cell.

Gee Rob, what else do we have in common? The lovely Mrs. Schro & I have had a family plan with Cingular (now AT&T) for years. Not interested in the camera, WWW, all that other stuff.

I have Sprint because I get a 20% discount through my employer. It seems to work well enough where I need it to, though if I travelled a lot I would probably go with Verizon or AT&T which seem to have better coverage overall. I can also upgrade every 2 years, though it always seems to cost some money to do it. I'm eligible again in December, but don't think I'll bother. The phone is working fine (it's a Samsung SPH-A560). I'm not interested in a camera or any of the other bells and whistles that make things more complicated.
