I really love a bald head. But I hate to shave.
I have tried to epillate several times. The last time, I spent most of a Saturday trying to do it. I finally got all of it jerked out from my forehead back to the upper back of my head about even with the top of my ears. I just couldn't go on and shaved the rest. I shaved daily until it all pretty much recovered so it didn't look too ridiculous and patchy.
I am tattooed over almost all of my body except the bottom of my feet, including all of those "Yes, there too!" places. Some of the tattooing was really seriously painful. But none of it, on both my big head and the little one, which are fully tattooed, compared to the epillation!
I have most of a full head of hair. I have NEVER felt any Pain like epillation. That Saturday I mentioned was the last time I tried it, about two years ago. I would go at it for as long as I could stand it, until the tears were blinding me and I had little strength left. Then I would lie down and rest until I managed to recover enough strength and courage to try again. I found that the back of my head was the worst. The hair there seems to be a little thicker and coarser than the rest. And I suspect that a very large percentage of the rest of a head of hair is enough finer that much of it just breaks off, while that back of the head hair is tougher than I am and just finally pulls out because the shaft is stronger than the root. And it seems, when noticing bald men, that the back of the head is the last place to go bald, in fact it often never gives up.
I tried several different epillators also. They all are horribly painful, but the Emjoi seemed to me to be the best. I returned one or two for a refund. One gave up before I did. I still have two, a Panasonic and the Emjoi.
I hate to discourage you. I know there are many men who do it. I just felt compelled to share my experience and do it honestly.
There is a Yahoo group named Permanent Scalp Hair Removal
https://login.yahoo.com/config/login;_ylt=AtI46q.M_jXQ2vBSmsjhpB.gwsEF?.src=ygrp&.intl=us&.lang=en-US&.done=https://groups.yahoo.com%2Fneo%2Fgroups%2Fpermanentscalphairremoval%2FinfoThey claim that it is a gradual thing which takes perhaps several years to achieve total baldness. Check it out and give it a try. Obviously some men make it work. I just wasn't one of them. I wish I could give you a different answer since I would love to be totally hairless up there!
