Hey guys, I'm new on the board after lurking for awhile. I really enjoy everyone's posts.
Here's my question: Forgetting about facial shapes....what have you found looks best as far as eyeglasses? Particularly color of frame, material, full rims vs partial etc.
I'm not sporting any facial hair, if that makes a difference.

Welcome JB, great to have you with us. As far as glasses, the aviator style with gold rims seems to work well with a well tanned dome.

If I had the nerve(and could accept the risk), I'd go to the docs and get the eye surgery to get rid of my glasses(which now include bifocals). The glasses are no fun. I wear military-style issue metal-framed glasses

Well I like the classic black frame glasses. I got them before I shaved and I still like them now. I'd also kick anyones ass that made fun of me....lol jk
But seriously just go up to a eyewear store and get some type of camera like a cell phone or digital camera and and try different frames on take some "myspace" type pictures(i.e.- standing in front of a mirror with the camera aimed at your reflection). Then, take the pics home and review them few of your friends(but ultimately deciding what YOU think looks good on yourself)and then make a decision. Hope this helps.

PS-If you have women friends of a girlfriend/wife, ask them which ones they think look good. Because women usually have good taste and ultimately you want to look good for yourself and the ladies

.......Screw your guy friends lol.

I posted this under another thread awhile back, but I guess I'll repeat since it applies here. I wear contact lenses but had just got new glasses 2 months before going SLY. I wear the glasses in the evenings after long days and when my eyes are tired from the contacts. I noticed that after I had the slick and SLY head the new glasses didn't look as good as my old ones. The old ones were more oval shaped and the new ones are more squared. I think I like the oval shaped frames since they compliment the shape of my head.

Welcome JBinTX!!! It all depends on the shape of your head, skin tone and facial hair (if any). Styles come and go, so if you change very often that won't be a big deal. Otherwise, stick with a classic style like everything else.

Paul is square on the head, gold framed Aviators look awesome with a sly dome.
Also I am partial to the square Loc style sunglasses made popular by many Hispanic cholos in the 80's and 90's.

I just ahve the small lenses in my glasses. And they are wire rim. I just hate them actually...have worn them since the 7th grade..and no I am not showing them to you. The ones I wore when i was younger. I even had those ones that tinted to brown when you got outside...What a dork.
Well its bedtime here..so see you folks tomorrow

That is not true. I've had several pair of glasses with transitions. One thing you need to know is that they do not get dark inside the car. Otherwise, I love mind.
