As someone who had long rocker hair for years and years..I never thought I'd say this. But I'm loving the sly life.
I have insecurities about head shape and a freckle or two, but they fade more each day. Day one was torment city, because I work at a day care (Kindergarten to 5th grade!) and they alllll broke out the names. But after work? I just laughed it off and said, "Yeah, I am bald! I never have a bad hair day now!"
Since I'll be bald likely (Or have bald spots) in a few years, I feel as if I have "control"...I've taken the preemptive strike, and gone BBC. Now of course, to those who aren't BBC but just bald...All the same respect!
One week down guys...Bald by choice and loving it. My scalp is finally getting close to same color! I've been saying I'll upload pics, but I want to wait until my scalp is the same color, I'm hoping one more day in the sun is what it needs!

I notice our head shape is a bit similar, Cave Dweller. My head goes out a bit above my ears, too.

Glad you are enjoying your new look. I think the first day was tough for all of us - you get a variety of reactions and comments regardless of the ages of people you are dealing with. You'll become more comfortable with each passing day and the comments / questions will stop after a couple of weeks (if it even takes that long).

I work with kids and they constantly tell me I'm bald. It's a nice reminder. LOL.

It's pretty funny after a while! I just laugh, because they say it as if I don't know that I am!
